A tribute to a great film, and its not so much sequels... Facehuggers hatch from eggs laid by the Alien Queen. They latch on to a victimís face to inoculate them with an Alien embryo. When the embryo has matured, it bursts from the hostís chest!
About this creation
The facehugger and the alien are of course not on the same scale... Click for HUGE main photo
I thought of building a facehugger after buying Garmadon's Dark Fortress (2505), the skull spider thingy reminded me of one. I never did use those big white legs, I do not have eight of themÖ Though I may like these legs better, they did force me to scale down the modelÖ Pity, because it did not give me much room for detail and flexibility.
I was reminded of making one when I saw James Bondís Book store. I thought his Alien minifig was so brilliant that I had to make one of my own. Credits go to him for his hands-on-tail-idea. Another tube than he uses - an old fashioned brick - happens to fit in the crack of skeleton-legs. It is the perfect solution to the problems of trying to fit a minifig with a tail, try it, it is nearly impossible! I stumbled upon the teeth when plucking hands of minifigs; the shoulder brushes of the Space Police Chief!
Beautiful,Beuatiful recreation of the face-hugger! I could never figure out a design for this, but you did!
I guess we started our projects around the same time, but you finished frist! I am working on the Narcissa, which is a WIP (And incredibly difficult), but I have been experencing dimentional problems (and it has been put off due to personal life(Basketball camps)..... But it is about 1/4 done. Thanks so much for the credit man! I wasn't expecting that! Your minifig looks brilliant! Perfect use of the skeleton torso! I hadn't thought of that, But I also have no skeleton torsos! Well done Mate!
