Okay, now for some backstory! Valens was the oldest of the Toa Ghetta, born shortly after the Era of Peace. He grew up in a small warrior's village consisting of Fe-Matoran and Ta-Matoran, where he learned his fighting skills and found his outstanding ability to lead. He recieved a Toa stone after singlehandedly fighting off a large Rahi that attacked some gatherers outside Valens' village. After Valens became a Toa, he left his village in search of a town that needed protecting. Valens searched for years, but never found a threat that truly challenged his ability until he came across a trading village where a too-curious Agori accidentally activated five ancient Vahki that soon took over the village and forced the merchants to resume the gruelling tasks that the convict Matoran in Po-Metru were assigned to perform. Valens fought the mechanical menaces and managed to defeat them by removing the roof of a shop and pummeling the Vahki to bits with it. The Matoran that owned the shop reinforced the roof/shield and gave it to Valens as a gift of thanks for protecting his goods. Valens then worked as a security guard at the trading village until moving to Ghetta Nui to become an official Toa protector.
Valens, along with the rest of the Toa Ghetta, saved the great city of Ghetta Nui from many threats in their time, but Valens ordered his team never to harm anyone in excess, as he thought that a good, humiliating beating was enough to put even fierce Rahi back on the path of good. His faith that there was good in everyone was indeed admirable, but ended in his demise. When the Gang Wars began, Valens barged into the headquarters of an emerging gang consisting of Matoran of Lighting, The White Shock. Valens then walked through the small-arms fire of gang members, crushed two security robots into a projectile, used it to break down a steel door, and emerged from the base with their leader in a headlock. The leader was humiliated like a younger brother until he promised to stop raiding shops and power plants, and Valens let him go. With the Gang Wars successfully postponed, Valens relaxed. He didn't realize that the White Shock's leader would load up Valens' home with enough explosives to level a city block. When Valens went inside, the bomb detonated and Valens, despite his tough element and Mask of Shielding, was blown to smithereens. The first hero to die in the darkest war since Teridax.
Okay, now onto the build! The most prominent aspect of this MOC is the leg design. The heavy silver armor looks like pants to me, similar to Leader Chuck from Pokemon Gold's outfit.
The lower legs are well-armored but simple. To make up for it, the upper legs are completely custom. I'm very happy with how they turned out.
And look what is keeping the Hero Factory armor on his knee! A minifig head! I thought of that all by myself, what do you think?
Back view. I think it's almost as good as the front, which is a rare occurance.
"Behold my power!"
Although Valens prefers fighing with no weapons, he occasionally uses the shield he received from the trading village, especially when he has to protect others and not just himself.
"Listen up, boy. You need to learn a few things about discipline and respect. You see, money and power don't really matter, it's the integrity of yourself that makes you a man. Don't let anyone say you're less of a man for doing the right thing. Now, pick yourself up off the floor and I'll get you some ice."
Valens and Umillu, two fallen heroes.
Bonus shot: My camera was having some focusing issues and it made this effect. I thought it was cool and really weird. Maybe Valens was activating his Hau?
Thanks for viewing, and let me know what you think!

I used to colors being spread out throughout the Bionicle, but this is refreshingly new, seeing all the silver below his waist gives it a different feel...almost like he's wearing pants. Love it!
That's what I was going for! It's a very fun technique. Gringat does these transitions a lot in his MOCs.
Odd how well that Inika torso works on him! Amazing work bro! I freaking love his legs! Amazing use of the minifigure head :D Also great work with greebling his back! Personally I would have greebled the torso a bit, just to give him more of a bare chest look, like abs or something, anyway, great work mate ;)
I like it

So you took my advice after all. The song works perfect for this guy. I'd hate to have died the way he did.
Very epic! The silver pants are sweet. I think you should make him beefier in the chest and arms though, and, pardon the expression, a man chest. ;) Like on the Lego Obsessionest's weight lifter dude. The music is epic too BTW, hadn't heard it in a while and it was a nice refresh. :) Great job bro.
Thanks for the input, guys! I was actually going to armor up the whole body, but I fell in love with the shirtless, fighting pants look that I discovered when trying to merge the leg armor with the body. I'll try to bulk him up a bit up top though.
First of all, the YouTube video is a smart way to overcome the picture issue. I think I'll still wait out the glitches, but it's great to be able to see your stuff now. As for the build, I really like the legs and the min ifig head connection is brilliant. The silver "pants" look a bit goofy to me. A few silver highlights on the torso or arms would maintain the effect but balance the colors out a bit. But then, that's just my opinion. I enjoyed the backstory. Great job as always!
I watched the video :D
He looks amazing, but I think his thighs are a tad bit bulky in comparison to his torso, which seems a little plain. Perhaps you might give him a more muscular chest. Nevertheless, 5/5

Your guys don't live in the cannon universe do they? Toa of Iron are orange and grey, NOT red and silver and toa can't be born. (first!)
Ghetta Nui fits in the canon universe, but with creative inaccuracies such as the color schemes. Personally, I find red and silver to be just as accurate, considering that iron burns bright red, and that is more appealing than using rust color. And Valens was created as a Matoran, not as a Toa.
