T-63 'Pterodactyl' Vic Viper
Thus named after the flying dinosaur which it resembles when landed, the T-63 'Pterodactyl' is a mean machine, used by the military as a futuristic cross between a plane and a helicopter. I believe that this is considered a Vic Viper, if I'm wrong, please let me know.
About this creation

Ok, so this is my newest ship, the T-63 'Pterodactyl'. This was inspired by… ah, I forget. Some guy on Flickr who had made a very awesome Vic Viper. If I find it, I’ll link to it. Anyway, I decided to build something vaguely like it.

I still don’t know if this could be considered a Vic Viper, maybe someone could help me?

So as this ship works on a gas-powered engine (obviously not EXACTLY gas, but fuel none the less), it can only fly in the atmosphere, at about the range of the airplanes, and thus cannot be considered a ‘space ship.’

In my opinion, this HAS to be the best ship I’ve ever made, and surprisingly only took me about three-four hours all in all. Unlike my Jeep Thingy, which took me about three DAYS. And many tries.

So tell me what y’all think!

Here’s a little description video for you guys. Please excuse my noobness, and the bad quality of both the video as well as my voice, which sounds awful on camera. Plus, I was also a little sick (sore throat) when I filmed this, which just worsens things.

Some pics of the general shape:

A couple close-ups of the engine:

This is how the wings are folded for attack mode:

And when it lands, the front wings fold up, and used for landing gear in front, while the back wing, the one over the engine, has a built-in landing gear thingy for protection:

The front 'mandibles' swing sideways so that the cockpit can open:

And, finally, a few more close-ups. Here you can also see both gas tanks, as well as my improvised stand. =)

Well, that it's people. I think this is the best ship I've made to date.

I also believe it to be classified as a Vic Viper, and if it isn't, let me know so that I can fix it.

Athanasios, thank you for building such an exceelent Vic Viper. Mine might not be as good as yours but you can check it out if you like, too. Also, I'm adding you to my list.

Quoting Katka = ) I guess the back wings are fine, but a Vic-Viper needs to have a tail. The engine is very good though!
On reflection, I guess you coouuldd... maybe... call the cheese slope on top the dorsal tail. It might just slip by. Might.

Quoting Brody Allen Very nice build. A lot of great details a greebling for a small ship. I honestly was trying to come up with some critique of it but can't. O love the playability of it and it looks very sturdy and swooshable.
Thanks. =)

You mean like a dorsal fin-type tail on top? I thought about that, but I'm just not sure if it would look that great.

All sorts of cool stuff in this one! The pics didn't seem to load, but I watched the video. I especially like the first configuration, reminds me of a Cylon Raider, but that's just me...Great work!
