Mission//LOG: The Break Out
Operation: CLOAK Phase 1 for the group The Insurrection.
About this creation
Hello there guys. This creation, my insurrection, is my last creation to upload that I built during the crash, but I had an unexpected crash of my own to deal with when taking pictures on LDD. To put it simply, all of my characters and vehicles and misc details were all wiped out because of an LDD crash that hit me--luckily, the setting (buildings and road) were saved because I always keep a copy of the base JUST for this reason. However, this caused me to have to put this mission in log form (similar to Christian Collins' Insurrection mocs these days) and also upload this a day late. You may also notice some mistakes and overlooked details throughout the moc, which is also due to this (the first of which would be a lack of background in the main pic...). LDD is really starting to annoy me now that the level of detail I'm using is causing it to crash.

In any case, this is yet another mission for the Insurrection. This vig includes my whole squad (now down to only 5 more soldiers...) here to raid a prison and free a few UNSC prisoners held hostage by the Insurrection. And I'm so glad to be working on urban layouts now...jungle layouts were a pain.

Enjoy!

--Mission/Crazy_Awesome/LOG: 15:47
As my ODST strike team was deployed smack dab in the middle of the city, we could already feel bullets whizzing by our heads. The Innies were prepared for us. That only means more crap to deal with.

--Mission/Crazy_Awesome/LOG: 15:47
Our mission? To get into this run down shoddy building the city once called a prison. Obviously it wasn't at the peak of its condition, but the Innies threw our soldiers in it anyways.

--Mission/Crazy_Awesome/LOG: 15:48
It was clear we certainly underestimated their strength. Their mounted machine gun turrets (stolen from the UNSC, damn them) took us by surprise and devastated initial strike teams.

--Mission/Crazy_Awesome/LOG: 15:48
Not to mention they put ANOTHER one on the roof, with a grenadier providing support. Naturally, I was forced to gather my defeated team and regroup.

--Mission/Background/LOG: N/A
It was clear that the Insurrectionists had been fighting before the ODSTs showed up. Remnants of police vehicles and their drivers were found scattered all over the east end of the intersection. These were used as cover for the ODSTs and Insurrectionists alike.

--Mission/Background/LOG: N/A
Unfortunately, both police force lives and civilians were killed in the carnage the Insurrectionists created to defend the prison.

--Mission/Background/LOG: N/A
The worst part of the skirmish was that Insurrectionists were continuously arriving in waves as reinforcements, which greatly outnumbered the ODST team.

--Mission/Turret_Innie/LOG: 14:29
PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW

--Mission/PFC_Yapdap/LOG: 15:51
Regardless of how the team was caught off guard, I had a pretty successful day on the rooftops. With the help of Generation Killer, we snipers were most definitely important parts of the regrouped strike force.

--Mission/PFC_Yapdap/LOG: 15:51
There's nothing like the sound of a bullet through the head. Call me sadistic if you want, but call me a hero while you're at it.

--Mission/Sgt_Asher_S./LOG: 15:52
However predictable my medic orders may be, being a medic is a tough job. Especially for a medic who is forced to work in the heat of battle with little equipment, working on a wounded soldier half covered in flesh and blood.

--Mission/Sgt_Asher_S./LOG: 15:52
And to be truthful...seeing more wounded makes me want to collapse of exhaustion...which just causes more problems. Being a medic is hard.

--Mission/Private_Spark_Industries/LOG: 15:55
However unusual my heavy weapons orders may be, being a heavy is a total blast. Especially for a heavy that has blast armor and the biggest and baddest of weapons at my disposal, killing Innie scum like wiping dead insects off of my windshield.

--Mission/Private_Spark_Industries/LOG: 15:56
And to be truthful...coming across more Innies scuttling across my feet makes me want to pull out my rocket launcher and fry them...which just raises my hit count. Being a heavy is a blast.

--Mission/Private_Commando_Fog/LOG: 15:58
Boss decided that as part of our second-strike assault, I would take the outside route behind cover to avoid machine gun fire, with a select few ODSTs at my side. And with my shotgun in hand...who could resist?

--Mission/Private_Commando_Fog/LOG: 15:58
The other ODSTs coming with me aren't just stupid AIs like they always are...they're good. And they like knives.

--Mission/Private_Generation_Killer/LOG: 15:60
Even though I'm relatively new to the squad, having the sniper rifle in hand makes me feel like the wise and veteran pro that every soldier envies...and every single headshot brings me closer to that coveted goal.

--Mission/Private_Generation_Killer/LOG: 15:61
I have to be careful though...hiding behind the giant advertisement, I make sure to avoid the heavy machine gunner's fire.

--Mission/Background/LOG: N/A
HEADSHOT! (Just a bonus shot on the top of the roof)

--Mission/Crazy_Awesome/LOG: 15:67
This situation is truly pandemonium. Hard to believe that Charybdis IX used to be peaceful. The blood stained and the lives lost on this very soil, or asphalt, for that matter, is just testament to a long war we have to fight.

--Mission/Crazy_Awesome/LOG: 16:24
After what seemed like years of fighting, the battle was finally over. The blood of police, civilians, ODST soldiers, and Innies mixes into a pool of sorrow and sin. But finally, the air was quiet and peace had regained the upper hand on the street.

--Mission/Crazy_Awesome/LOG: 16:24
Finally, we can get to our mission. There will definitely be more Innies inside, more blood, more fighting, more lives lost. But as Spark hacks in the gate code for the prison, and as Fog stands behind with his shotgun at the ready for an ambush, I can only keep thinking that wars like this never, ever end. Crazy Awesome out.

Fourth Wall:

A shot of the whole map. I used the technique with those microscale buildings again to simulate some forced perspective, however, it didn't work as well this time than it did other times.

Road layout. It's a rather altered version of the old road layout that I used for a previous Insurrection mission, back in the early days. It still proved to be a great layout.

The prison. I really didn't put too much into this building, but it does have some texture--some "feel" of a prison. I also changed some of the wall panels to brown to simulate the run down effect that Eric suggested.

A view of the top, or at least, the part of the top I built. You can also sort of see how I made the machine gun turret (it's a turret version of my newest machine gun turret design here)

A shot of my police mongoose. It's just a recolored version of my existing model, nothing special here.

I like this broken glass effect, it's much more real than just having trans studs on the floor next to the broken glass. LDD allows some pretty neat transparent customization in this case :)

Stoplight and sandbags.

Another full shot of the whole map to end it.

You may have noticed that one of the logs said 15:67. Just goes to show that you should pay more attention :D

Thanks for looking! Please rate and comment, and again, sorry this wasn't comic form that all of my buddies expect from me. I would hope you could join the Insurrection here, because we're in desperate need of some new members! Especially ODSTs, please join the ODSTs! :D

Quoting Commando Fog There are many things bout this that I like but first is that I never thought of making it at a city-scape and secondly,My vig is kinda detailess but maybe newer missions will be easier and are you planning to make a part 2 of this?
Probably not, due to time restraints and LDD crashing on me again. If someone wants, they can continue the mission just in the prison, that's fine with me.
