About this creation
Hi everybody! Welcome back, MocPages! (Kind of) I took a two-month vacation this summer from building. Why? I guess I was burned-out from Bumblebee and Lego summer camp. I needed a little project to get my building brain fizzing again, so I turned to my bread-and-butter, Transformers, but with a twist: Combining.

I was inspired to build a blocky SUV because it's easy. No annoying curves to work around. Also, my neighbor has a big yellow Toyota SUV with Autobot logos on the roof lights.

I wasn't able to narrow the look down to any particular make or model. Think of it as an American/European hybrid SUV with an urban warfare tactical armor upgrade. That'll help.

I was thrilled to use those two tailgate pieces - I've had a stash of them for over 2 years, and I believe this is the first important use they've had.

The roof racks were fun to build. They come into play a bit in vehicle mode, but not as much as I'd have liked.

"You could see his dirty undercarriage!" (name the movie and I'll check out your homepage)

What's an (ugly) SUV without a honkin' huge grill?

Every (ugly) SUV needs a suitable (ly ugly) crew.

Pop! I wanted to incorporte Magnetron magnets into the combiner aspect of these guys, but the robot parts didn't line up cooperatively. These guys can get a real mind of their own.

Meet Mayhem. Inspired by the ugly Autobot twins, he makes them look like cybertronic supermodels. Oh, and he loves causing mayhem.

And here's Riot. No, not the laughing kind. So stop it. He's been known to kill for less than that. Sorry he's not looking at the camera. He's very difficult; if you don't appease him, he'll start a...oh, you already know?

I labored for the entirety of the "So You Think You Can Dance" finale on these guns. All I can say is, they're certainly black.

Since I spent all that time, you can inspect them a bit closer.

The sun was setting, my children were supposed to be going up to bed, but I snuck out to get this picture.

My eldest helped take this one, as I was holding the baby and almost dropped the camera. Thanks, my dear.

That's it for now, and probably until the MocOlympics. Oh, you might want to know that this project took only about 20-25 hours, so it was one of my shortest Transformer projects ever. Have you ever tried to make a Decepticon? You should. They're fun because they're supposed to be, well, ugly. I was particulary pleased with myself for 1) creating my first Combiner, 2) using so much of the vehicle's space on the robots - I mean, the roof turns into their legs - how cool is that?? 3) still fitting three figs inside!

I can tell you a secret about this one - little posability. Instead of 360 degree joints all over, these guys are like my back in the morning - stiff as a board. It made the project so much faster and easier, although like all my projects, in turned increasingly complex as I progressed. Anyway, it's good to be back! Have fun, everyone!

Quoting Doc. Jared . So, are they sort of like, the antiheroes of Mudflap and Skids?
Exactly. But less identical, and more fraternal.

Pretty sweet combination going there. I don't think this idea would be possible but, the autobot twins were able to switch positions. It's just a passing thought. All things considered, you did an amazing job lad. Hopefully, everyone interested in this MOC can guess that last quote.

Impressive work. Transformers are difficult to build, and these ones look good in robot form, and then they combine into a minifig scale car?! Spectacular.
