This is the Texas State Railroad locomotive #500. The Texas State Railroad is currently at risk of being shut down, so in a show of support I decided to recreate some of the steam locomotives they operate.

The #500 is a Pacific type (4-6-2) steam locomotive that runs on oil. I've built it to be 7-wide so it is somewhat proportionally correct to the size of the #300.
Note that the rear pair of wheels on the pony truck are fixed to the locomotive, esencially making it part of the drive wheels. I did this because it allowed me to use the small BBB wheels for the pony truck without having to make the pistons higher or smaller so the wheels would clear.
I relly liked the 300 steam train. How long did it take you to make the train? and do you happen to have blueprints for the train becouse i all wanted to make a lego steam train but could not fund how to make one.thanks your train is cool.
