8/30/11 2 Alarm Fire
This 2 Alarm fire took place on Union St on 8/30/11
About this creation

Jakelands Bravest were kept busy before, during and after hurricane Irene struck the city. Before the storm, firefighters were kept busy preparing the multiple rescue boats throughout the city and filling sand bags. During the storm, multiple victims were trapped in vehicles due to flash flooding, while others were trapped in elevators due to power outages. Residents who live close to the water had to be evacuated due to flooding. Some residents who were stubborn, were eventually evacuated after the storm via boats. This storm also caused many structure fires throughout the city. The pictured incident here occurred on 8/30/11. This fire was an unattended candle that was being used because of the power outage. When Squad 10 arrived first on scene, they discovered that the fire had already consumed the top floor of 555 Union St and flames were through the roof. Also the fire had extended into the top floor of 553 Union St. The fire required a 2nd alarm and took 2 and a half hours to bring under control. Mutual aid from Lego Twp, St Lego, North Lereado County, South Palm and Rochelle Heights were needed to stand by due to Jakelands Bravest operating at multiple incidents across the city. No one was killed due to the hurricane.

Matt, your incidents must be some of the most professional I've seen here on MOCpages, I love the use of light in this incident. Great work!

This is really nice. The fire and smoke effects are terrific. The only thing that I see that is missing is the red glare from the lights on the apparatus. (Of course apparatus with working lights is a whole new adventure that few builders have the money to do - those little LEDs are expensive). The photo of the structure after the knockdown, with the structure lit up is also really good. I think that it is a very accurate depiction of realistic lighting conditions. Light towers are up and overheads are off. You obviously put a lot of thought and effort into this. Keep up the good work!
