ALICE and the QUIZZICAL CATERPILLAR
UPDATED: Saturday, September 17, 2011 I gave the caterpillar more arms and I am now happy with his look! I added another mushroom as well - the white one! "the QUEEN OF HEARTS" inspired this MOC, since I got the big orange radar dish in a bulk lot I bought and tried to figure out what to do with it, the QUEEN inspired me to do another scene in ALICE! I will entitle this one "ALICE IN LEGOLAND"®! Here I gave you some great introduction pics to get you to think out of the DISNEY Box, not every Alice wears BLUE and not all the caterpillars are BLUE that was the image DISNEY implanted on us! Mine is dressed in BLACK as is the 1st picture. I didn't go crazy creating more limbs, I suggested them instead! when it came to his hookah I had combined two I used for reference and as for the "smoke" a piece of cotton from a q-tip (tm) provided the illusion! I used the idea for the red mushrooms from the Fairy Tale/Story Set! ...and developed my own ideas! I loved the picture of Alice on a mushroom so I added it to the scene!

Quoting DeTomaso Pantera This is really fun! The sheesha pipe is my favourite part, is that cotton wool you used as smoke?
Yes, it is COTTON as we call it here in the United States. We can by it in bulk, in cotton balls or at the ends of a stiff paper stick called a q-tip (tm) which is what I used.

Well done, I'm not sure I like the Dobby head, maybe a custom one would look better, but still great!

I loved the book, and this scene was a favorite of mine. Nice work rendering it in Lego!

Maybe it's because I've been thinking about doing a Wonderland moc for a while now but I think this is one of your more inspired pieces. I really like it! Nice one! ~ Chris.
