MOColympics, Round 1: Winter
The Winter Keepers Shrine.
About this creation
For the first round of the MOColympcs!
Link.

Long, long ago, at the beginning of time. Four beings were put in charge of the seasons. Each one built a shrine in which to safe-hold their season. The Winter Keeper raised his in the middle of a frozen wasteland, far away from mankind.

The pictures pretty much speak for themselves.

I hope all of you like it! Especially the judges!

Hello Ru. Very nice build. I have to disagree with Dave's critique about the background. I really think the black background was perfect choice to convay the desolation of the scene. All components are well built and thoughtout. Tue path leading up to the steps with the snow on them and the rocks that have pockets of snow and ice are my favorite. I am looking forward the seeing what you can do in round two.

No wonder you made it to round 2! This is Amazing! I really mocs that involve snow, they are so much fun to look at. I really like the trees and the whole design of the building is very cool! 5/5! By the way thanks for adding me as a favorite builder :) it is much appreciated!

Quoting Dave Kaleta Ru, You have a really great MOC and an excellent concept. The photography hurt it for me. I never got a sense of what the snow looked like because of the adjustments you made, and the trees were lost against the background. So my main critique is that I couldn't really see all the details you put into it. Thank you for sharing your take on the categories. ~Dave
Thank you for the input Dave. In the future I will make sure the photography does not hinder the view-ability of the MOC.

Really nice job. If you had a blue backdrop to photograph against I think you still could have the wintery feel but the trees would be a little easier to see and the white would still pop. Lovely details around the arches and I do like the fig too. Good luck!

Quoting Phillip Easter the snow on the trees is a nice tuch, how did you ever think of that?
I didn't thnk the trees looked right without any snow on them, so I just experimented until I found something that worked. Btw, I'm so sore I can barely type ;D

Quoting Mark E Very cool. I have been noticing that you and your sister over expose your pictures. Is that on purpose? Because it is rather hard to see the MOCs.
Yes it is on purpose, and we do it with GIMP. I think it makes the pictures look clearer. Thanks for the input!

Quoting Deus Otiosus The only thing I could criticise here are the trees, either too tall or have too small branches. And... Did you see that staff in a Magma's MOC?
No, I did not see Magma use that staff. And I rather like how the tree's turned out, but now that you mention it, they could be shorter.
