It's incredible what can be found in rabbit holes, especially after a long, cold winter! Our biologist friend here is discovering this the hard way. But a jumbo "spring"? Okay so maybe it's a little to literal and over the top, but hey! It was fun to build! After all, spring is full of surprises! This is my entry for the "MocOlympics" round one, hope you enjoy!

I like your entry. At first glance, I thought the spring you made was smoke and I was trying to figure it all out. Then closer I noticed it was a spring. I thought of this idea but could not come up with a way to make a spring out of system. I think you did a nice job doing that. The tree on the other hand is a nice tree but being bare gives you the feeling of winter, even though you stated it is early spring. Maybe a couple green 1x1 round plates could have given a more literal vision of spring. Maybe it was the literal "spring" and the season of spring combined which was a little too much for the judges. In all I think you did a great job on this MOC! |

This is a nicely built vig, and the action captures the theme pretty well. Well done! |

Ian, This was a very clever creation. You took a great approach and the build was quite nice. I think what held you back was the tree. What could you have done to make it more original? Remember, when building on a small foot print EVERYTHING is important. Thank you for sharing your take on the categories. ~Dave
The tree! I think you're right. Well like they say, always stick with your first impression. I was not originally going to include the tree, but then I felt like the build needed something more. Guess I was wrong. Thanks for the feedback and for being a fair judge! I'm looking forward to next year! |

Hey Ian, shame you didn't make it through, this is a neat little entry, there was stiff competion this year though. Thankfully i got through and don't really know what to expect. Keep at it and have another crack at it next year :) |

Maybe it's a system hick up but your link doesn't seem to work?!
Yes I noticed that too, but I think it may be system related because one of my friends told me it worked for him. Plus I also went back a couple times to make sure I did everything right, and I couldn't find any error. |

DZOING! Nice little vig here. Maybe just a few lime green one stud rounds in the tree would have added the spring feeling? Good luck with your judges! |

I don't love the tree, but the rest of this is great. I particularly like the amount of work you put into details for the ground, and the way that the spring is angled. Nice work and good luck! |
