Here's my entry for the 2011 MOC Olympics. Category: Fall
About this creation
It's autumn and a young couple decide to take the dog for a walk in the forest to collect some wood for the upcoming winter.

They notice there's a lot of noise ruining the peace and tranquility.

"RINGADINGADINGADINGA"

It's a bunch of tree surgeons clearing the forest for a new bypass.

The couple are very upset at this sight and have been protesting about the plans to build this new road, as it will pass right next to their lovely log cabin.

The young man has an idea...

"Darling you distract them, i've got a plan to stop these guys"

So the young man wanders off, axe in hand.

Once he was out of site.....

"HEEELLLLP"!

Tree surgeon: "Huh, what was that"?

He looks round to see a very attractive young lady looking quite distressed.

Young lady: "Can you help me? I was out walking my dog and i don't seem to know where i am, i don't recognise this part of the forest".

Little do the tree surgeons know, whilst they were making all that noise the young man was hatching his plan.

Young man: "Time for the trees to get there own back hahaha"

And with one last swing of his axe theres a "CRACK" and then an "EEEEK"

The tree surgeons look round in shock as a giant Pine tree picks up momentum as it falls towards them.

Young man: "TIMMMBERRRRRR"
Tree surgeons: "AAAAGGGGGHHHHH"

"CRASSHH CRACK"

Young couple: "Hahaha that'll teach you for ruining our forest"!

Tree surgeons "Ohhhwwwww"

And the moral of the story is " Save our beautiful trees and forests or they'll get their own back"!

Here's a few overall shots of the scene...

And a couple of the details...

Being a tree surgeon and gardener myself i really wanted to create something related to my job. I only have a small business so i don't chop forests down i just, dangle from trees and get them into shape :)

One final send off shot of all the characters.

Hope you like it, would be great to hear from you if you do :)

Glad to hear your build's going well. Mine too - and I've figured out my digital camera (alright, my son did - isn't that what teenagers are for ?). Can't wait to see what you've come up with - I'm nervous as well. p.s. The MOCpages home page does look good right now doesn't it ? :-)

De Tomasso, The composition of the MOC is really quite spectacular. The bend of the tree in particular as well as the diagonal swath of the path. Keep up the good work! Thank you for sharing your take on the categories. ~Dave

I can't wait to see what you do in further rounds. Your round 1 entry was one of my favorites. Looking at all your MOCs and seeing how you are able to shift from mechanical to organic so well really displays how talented of a builder you are.

Additional congratulations from me. I especially liked the little detail where you used 2 round tan plates to demonstrate the cut in the trunk on the ground. Very well done.

Very Nice detail. I like the contrast in the logs to show the cuts. I fresh look on Fall. Thank you for the kind comments on mine and suggestion. I didn't think I wanted to enter but decided last night at 11:30 to start (I went to bed at 3:30AM). I thought about the rules as I was lying in bed but was too tired to do anything. I made the changes and hopefully it will meet the requirements.

Very nicely done and nice details, e.g. the tan cut in the wood. The first picture is really interesting in that it's a 32 x 32, but the tree really towers over everything and dwarfs it. It makes it look like tilt-shift photography.

Quoting Zac . how does cutting down trees stop other people cutting down trees/,still great build.
I had a feeling somebody might say that...If you think about it, squashed tree surgeons might find it a bit difficult to cut down another tree. and this is make believe afterall ;)
