Just another Dune Hopper 5763 alternate, but it is my favorite so far!
About this creation
This is my latest creation from the Dune Hopper Creator #5763 kit. This time I challenged myself to use all of the pieces in the kit, to incorporate more of the grey pieces on the exterior, and to avoid using the long curved red and white pieces on the front end because they make it too easy to make the nose of a race car. I used as much SNOT as I could manage. The only leftover pieces are the two rubber bands used for working suspension and a single grey technic connector piece that I do not know the name of. There are two single 1x1 flat pieces that are used only on one side of the car for the benefit of photography (a white flat top 1x1 behind the driver's head and a round grey flat 1x1 behind the rear wheel).
I think it is about the best I can do with this really small kit.
Preston, I'm working on acquiring enough random bricks that I can do a bit more free building in the future. But for now, I am really enjoying the challenge of building alternates with nothing but what comes in an individual Creator kit. It's tough because you have to figure out how to accomplish something without being able to use any and every brick that LEGO ever made. . . .

How's about something other than a car now?
I actually spent most of last evening trying to make an airplane with this kit. I just wasn't able to make anything that I felt was worth sharing, but perhaps I tried to make it too big and that's why I was missing so many pieces I wanted to use? But ok then, my next creation from this kit will not be a car. . . . .
I'll have to try that robot kit too :)
If only Snot was invented when we were lads/ladettes we would be masters (Nathanael excluded, you're already a master). I think i've got the knack of it and then i see something new and think, how did they do that? Thats what's so great about this hobby/WOL the possibilities are endless. Anyway waffle waffle, this alt is cool, an improvement on your last one, i like the flecks of orange :) How's about something other than a car now?
Another good alternate. The photos of the rear end are very nice. I also try and use all the pieces in my alternates - doubling the challenge. I have had varied success (3 out of 6 so far). The larger the set the harder it is (to use all the pieces) but you can always make more than one moc. A group of animals for example. have you any plans to buy another set? My current favourite is the Rescue robot (5764)
Nice to see another version. Sometimes it takes a few attempts before something works out the way we want. Reminds me of something I wrote a while ago in Hispabrick Magazine 009 about alternatives...
When I built my first alternates I also just had discovered SNOT techniques, and tried to use it as much as I could. It's great fun and a good exercise! :)
