Kaboom
Here is my entry for Round 2 of the Moc Olympics. It Came From Outer Space.
About this creation
I had a hunch My nobel opponent Nick Barrett might create something classic, so I decided to create something futurisic looking and keep it simple yet effective.

So here we go...

Earth, year 2012

A strange looking alien craft is in earths orbit.

Is this the day all humans have been dreading?

Will they invade? Will they abduct? Or will they just save their time and just destroy the planet?

Well here's your answer.

The alien craft changes shape to look even more strange...

As soon as this happens it produces an earth shattering shockwave.

KABOOOM

The End.

Nostradamus never predicted that would happen.

Here are some more detailed shots of the stars of the show.

I wanted to create a simple but original looking craft using some of my favourite elements. I would have made it lime green if I had enough lime cheese. But grey with a hint of lime will have to do.

The explosion sphere is very similar to the craft, except it looks like an explosion.

The rear of this is all Edam cheese, as i ran out of Red Leicester and Cheddar.

The alien, I'll call him Rugby because of the shape of his head. He's the best I could make him with the amount of lime I've got.

He sits snuggly in the ship.

A final send off shot with everything on the star wall I built to get the star effect in the photos.

I really enjoyed this build and am very much enjoying this contest. It's a great shame i was pitted against one of my good MocPages friends Nick, but at least one of us is guaranteed progression to Round 3 :)

So judges it's over to you, have fun and may the best moc win.

Congratulations, Tom, you got my vote in this round. I'm honest, it wasn't an easy decision, but you managed to use a technique that really impressed me and will stay in my mind for a long time. I'm talking about your ship changing into battle mode (reminds me of the new V-series by the way). Actually, the whole ship concept is unusual, clean and well designed; especially the exhaust pipes are a nice touch. And although the explosion looks a bit like the ship, the effect is still convincing.

Glad someone noticed the technic in the background. Although I'm a bit ashamed I didn't notice, I have a propre explanation: The use of technic in such a brilliant way, the bricks fade, and create a whole universe... Is that enough for a sorry? :-)

Quoting Master Shifu Leo J Cool use of slopes to depict an explosion. Perhaps even more intriquing is the backdrop of technic bricks used to create the stars and space. Solid build! Good luck!

Hello Detomaso. I think that if you wanted to highlight your ability to make a sphere you accomplished it. But I think you were going for more then that. I think it needs more details like the Alien attacking the earth ray-beams, maybe the earth actual turning molten, etc... the builds are cool but didn't leave me in awe like I know you can. I feel like they are also three separate builds and really do not fit together as one.

This is great and a simple formula can describe it. More cheese slopes = More epic. More epic = More points. Therefore More cheese slopes = More pionts. There is now way you can lose now. I'm rootin for ya!

I think you need to work on the story (maybe explain why the alien destroyed earth a little better). Get rid of the numbers on top of each picture, (don't know what you where trying to acheive there.) And maybe don't show all the creations together, (Sort of ruins the story). Hope this helps, And great job on your entry. :)

Great! . you promised us cheese bits, and we got cheese bits. :-) I do not know if my advise if worth something, ut I think the spaceship and the star look a bit too much the same technique, and I'm not totally sure of the figure ( som weird kind of feminim figure?). But well very nice colours, very very funny looking spaceship, a very good build.

Shame you and Nick have to go up against one another. I like all of this, but as you say, the page needs considerable editing to make the story flow. The alien has a killer rack too...
