Around 9 am this morning, 911 recieved multiple calls for a MVA.
On Status road, one of the access roads to the I-13, a shovel working on a nearby building site, accidently came on the road, a truck rammed the shovel, and a few other cars and another truck were involved in the pile up.
2 people were trapped, so SOC, Engine 13, Squad 17 and Ladder 13 tere sent to the location.
On scene crews started to stabilise the vehicles, and started to cut out the trapped driver of the car.
The other trapped person in the truck couldnt be freed by the on scene crews, because the shovel was sticking through thetrucks windshield and pinned the driver in his cab.
So Rescue 5 was called on scene to with their brand new rig.
When Rescue 5 on scene, the crews started cribbing and stabilising the shovel and the truck, when it was done, a special scaffolding was set up, so the fire and EMS crews could get the roof of the truck out of the way, so the trapped driver could be stabilised and freed.
After 15 minutes the truckdriver was pulled out of his destroyed cab.
Both trapped victims were transported to hospital were they both are in stable condition.
2 others were injured, but treated on scene by SVFD paramedics.
No further injuries were reported.
PD has the accident under investigation, and around 11:30 am the road was cleared.
