Pisces Eatery

Glory_Forever's fantastic entry
Category: Sign of the Zodiac

At first I was quite stumped on how to approach this category. There was certainly lots of potential with each sign of the Zodiac. But, I ultimately settled for Pisces, symbolized by the fish.

Not only are fish great for pets, but they're great for eating too!

Head on down to Pisces Eatery for succulent seafood!

See, they flap around aimlessly...until they get on your plate that is.

EDIT 10/10/11: I've added an .lxf file containing the mechanism that I designed for this.

It's a pain to work with angles in LDD, so there are some errors that should be noted in the .lxf file:

LXF Correction

In both of the circled scenarios, the liftarms should be physically connected to the axle or pins.

Thanks for your wonderful comments, everyone. For anyone interested, I edited my page to include a link to an .lxf file I made of the mechanism.

The motor functions were a nice touch, but I believe this,.. the fish itself was the most unique Lego design I have ever seen, awesome creation David! =)

Brilliant moving feature - not a chance I would have come up with anything so clever. Sorry to see this lose out.

That was definitely a fish out the water. I could have sworn your MOC would have blown apart with that much gyrating. Staying intact should have garnered extra points, hehe. Cool take on the category!

Wow.. That was close. You were a great opponent and I feel that this could have gone either way. It was very fun going against you and I hope we can do it next year. -Noah

David, this is a wonderful interpretation of the theme, probably much better than any I could have come up with. Even without the clip, your MOC is pretty cool, but still, my vote goes to your opponent. It was a hard decision.

Hahaha, great angle on the category, it really hooked me. You didn't flounder, you trolled your brain, snagged an idea and the net result deserves a perch on your mantle. =P Good Luck!~H

Ah that's fantastic idea! Two completely different takes on the category, each brilliant builds in their own right. Well done on this out of the box thinking and good luck!
