Storming of the Bastille
Category: France. This is my entry for the "Lego World Contest", it depicts the storming of the Bastille (as obviously indicated by the title). The Bastille was a great prison fortress in Paris during the French Revolution. It was attacked by the revolutionaries and later got torn down; but none the less, it is an incredible part of French history. Hope you enjoy! By the way, sorry for the poor quality photos, and for being so late in posting my entry.
About this creation

Attack!

My favorite revolutionary mini-fig.

A corner tower of the Bastille.

The build minus the mini-figs (below):

The moat, with a small waterfall in it.

The revolutionaries.

The french governor hired Swiss solders to guard the Bastille against the uprising French commoners. Here is one such Swiss troop.

Wow, that is really cool! I really like MOCs that incorporate historic scenes! I think you could have made the rock base of the tower more complicated though... -LB Senior

Very nice minifigs, but for the Swiss, I'd take a halberd, this was more typical for Switzerland. I like the women with pan the most. The face is just perfect.

In french: — « C’est une révolte ? » (Louis XVI) — « Non sire, ce n’est pas une révolte, c’est une révolution. » (duc de La Rochefoucauld) In english: - "is that a revolt? (Louis XVI) - "No lord, that's not a revolt, but a revolution." (duc de La Rochefoucauld) That's a good work! I'd like to see all the castle! =)

Quoting Riccardo Zangelmi Ok, sorry Ian, I did not want to be intrusive. I just wanted to ask you if you were an AFOL or TFOL, because if you felt like to could participate in the MocAthalon together.
Oh okay! I'm not angry or anything, I just don't give out my email address is all. I'm TFOL if that answers your question. I'd love to participate in the MocAtholon with you, sounds good to me. Although I've never done it before so don't know much about it.

Quoting Riccardo Zangelmi Great Ian, another very good building. If you read this message, send me an e-mail, i have some question for you. Thanks. Riccardo.Zangelmi@libero.it
I'd prefer not to give out my email address (I just generally don't) Is there anyway you could just create a group on MocPages in which we could talk? Thanks for the comment, Ian

"Allons enfants de la patrie, le jour de gloire est arrivé (...)" First words of the French National Anthem: "La Marseillaise" but composed by Rouget de Lisle 3 years after the down of the Bastille. And... and?... Nobody cares? Ok! ;) Nice build, BTW! The tower is great and the minifigs make it epic.

WOW Ian! See, something like this could totally win the LOTR contest. Think about it. You just keep putting out great vig after great vig. BTW, your roller-coaster is close to the homepage now. Not quite, but its at the top of the explore page. But back to this, I love the bastille and the figs. My favorite is actually the swiss quard. But the middle guy with the green bandana is the best revolutionary. 5 stars!
