The AT-PT was a small weapons platform designed for one, or two occupants at most. It was developed in the time of the Old Republic and was meant to be a mainstay of ground assaults. Nearly all the experimental models were aboard the fleet of Katana Dreadnoughts that went missing, so they never saw active service and the project was cancelled

The design was very advanced for its time, however, and later Imperial engineers borrowed elements of its design for their own armoured walkers.
