MIT Round 1: Lego Obsessionist Vs. David Wang: Monster Calendar
This was an interesting build...
About this creation
The MOCpages Invitational Tournament
David Wang's entry.

I had the catagory "Monster Calendar," which was a really hard thing for me to think up an idea for. This was the first time I'd ever used Lego stickers on a MOC. The paper is sticker sheets and the spiral binding is the springs from inside some midak blasters. Boy, it feels good to have finally used some deconstructed midak parts! I'm really proud of this creation, and I hope you like it too.

I finished this just barely in time for the contest, so I couldn't take the time to take decent pictures. Hopefully I'll be back with better ones someday.

In case you just don't get it, it's a picture of a mad scientist releasing his elephant-crab-toad hybrid on the world. And someone thought it would be a fitting calendar picture for June. Yeah.

Please feel free to rate and comment. And yes, I do realize the J is backwards. Mosaics can be confusing. Let's just say the crab-elephant-toad monster switched it to create chaos, OK?

Quoting E.K.O . It's great, but why didn't you fix the "J"?
Well, the contest days were very busy, so I basically had to make the top half of the MOC late at night after Wendsday night church. It was late on a school night, so I rushed to take the pictures as soon as I finished so that I could get to bed. I only realized the J was backwards after I uploaded the photos, and then it was too late to change it.

Quoting Chaos Master This thing did not look purist at first, but upon closer inspection I was sadly mistaken. I'm very, VERY impressed with how you those springs. Great job, Lego purist for life!

Quoting Quad ????? Nice job making this half mosaic, half 3D. Great job, my favorite part is how you made it actually hang on the wall with Lego parts.
Well, Lego parts and duct tape on the back.
