From the Beginning
...You Know the End. This WAS going to be an entry to the "Feet First Into Hell" contest, but I ran into a dead end. I am building something way better now.
About this creation
In 2525, humanity made contact with an alien society, known as the Covenant. On February 3rd, at 1423 hours the Harvest orbital platform made long-range radio contact with an unknown ship. Contact with Harvest, was lost soon after. The Colonial Military Administration sent the scout ship Argo to investigate. The ship arrived in-system on April 20th, but other than a brief transmission to confirm their exit Slipstream position, no further reports were made.

In response, Fleet Command assembled a battle group to investigate. The group consisted of the destroyer Heracles commanded by Captain Veredi, as well as the frigates Arabia and Vostok. They entered the Harvest system on October seventeenth and discovered this.

The small battlegroup then were engaged by one alien ship. The Vostok and Arabia were lost with all hands, Heracles managed to limp back to Reach.

On November 1st, the largest fleet in human history was deployed to Harvest. They were lead by Admiral Preston Cole. Combat started immediately when the fleet entered the system. Covenant ships launched salvos of plasma at the UNSC ships. A few of them managed to deploy it’s soldiers.

And the bloodiest war in human history, officially began.

A large scale deployment of UNSC troops occurred in the morning, they were tasked with retaking the capital Utgard. Night has come, and many have fallen.

The ODST Special Operations Team Foxtrot has rendezvoused with four other troopers. Team Foxtrot lost two men during the day, the others don’t know where their squad-mates are. The mixed unit decided to scale one of the largest towers in Utgard to signal in a dropship, if there were any left.

When they climbed to the roof, two flairs were ignited. They would draw in attention, but maybe it would be the friendly kind.

Every trooper here escaped the conquered planet. 3 died in the war, two dropped out due to injuries.

Fourth Wall

I lost interest in this build. I would have made a surreal forced perspective shot of a burning Utgard, but I just didn’t feel like it. Anyway, this is the side of part of the top floor. I like the corners and really wish I had the parts/funds to build an entire structure like this.

The other side, which is very similar.

The roof.

No troopers. I used the plates instead of tiles because A, I ran out of tiles and B, the figs would be better posed.

The AC unit is a bit boring, but I like how the horizontal door turned out.

I’m also pleased with the cable running along the roof.

On the left side of the top floor is a very empty office.

And on the other side is a last stand.

“Looks like they were cornered.” Jun
They were cornered, by a kill squad of elites. They tried their best to fend them off, but to no avail.

Small painting to fill space.

This is what is left of Team Foxtrot. Flash was killed during the Insurrection, Madeline was gravely wounded during the same op, Backlash was killed shortly after the day’s drop, and another man was killed in the streets of Utgard. That leaves Private Mills, Captain Mickle, Sergeant Jackson, and Commy.

These are the troopers that MocPagers built: Gunnery Sergeant Crazy Awesome, Henry ‘Bear’ McArthur, Matt, and Slicer. Sorry, but you guys won’t be in the final entry.

This tower was going to be in the backround. Since this is as far as the build is going, I will show it.

This is a clue to what I decided to do for the actual entry:

It looks pretty cool, but when you quoted Jun, it says 'corned' instead of cornered. - Asher

The building is pretty good, but I can see why you scrapped it for another entry. I love the little vig of the "last stand" inside the building, the colors caught my eye, though some blood pools might have aided in the fact is was a battle. I like the roof too, and thanks for including me. I can't wait to see your final entry, do I spy forced perspective? :)
