As for posting early messing up your chances, let me just clarify the ONLY thing I rethought about my build after you posted was my tile floor. I don't want you to think I went back and changed my entire build.....that didn't happen at all. Don't feel too bad either way, as my first MOC O I posted about as early as you did and got stomped. My build was nowhere near your caliber either. You have amazing potential, so don't let the experience hinder you. I'm looking forward to seeing more excellent builds from you in the future!

The popularity of Ian's build confirms the MOC's superior quality. The trouble though of posting early is that the opponent gets a better chance to size up his competition. IMO, that is what just happened here. There is pressure for Heath to top Ian's and I believe he delivered just enough to sway the advantage. The size of the MOC did not matter, but I thought the action ultimately decided the vote. This was a tough call. My vote goes to your opponent.
