This is the moon base I would have built if I had enough pieces back when 493, 920, 6970 came out...

Absolutely epic! This is what I would have dreamed of having enough enough Lego to build when I was 9 or 10. Strangely I still do! I like the details, especially the storage rooms and monorail. I also like the way that new Lego parts have been used but they look authentic. Excellent.

Also, I agree w/ cyberfrank: when I saw your technic girders at the top, I also immediatel thought to cover the play face with trans yellow plates using an "industrial robo-hinge" ;) overall though, I also get the "old school fidelity. The "missing panels" do not detract from the design because the potential exists for this type of personalization, which captures the magic of LEGO. Bravo.

5+/5. Un-b-b-buh-lievable! Story could use some development. Just kidding. So glad I found this group! Thanks.

Wow, that's amazing! I wish I had at least the space to build something like that! The station looks like it could be part of a Classic Space diorama in a Legoland park. You captured the spirit of the G1 space models very well. It's cool to see the three good old friends on the landing platforms. Great job! :-))

For years and years I did that very thing and scoffed at the company for making "unrealistic" models without four walls :-) For this model I wanted to go totally old school though...what do you mean by an extra layer?
Quoting cyberfrank 2010 WOW! this is awesome, it makes me feel so weird inside, as I get to remember the old ones, and my desires for it then, man, I love those missiles concepts and structures, only 2 drawbacks remain for me; you should improve upon the original concept by sealing the back of the buildings, [seing your collection, I can see you can afford it!] and an extra layer to up the ceilings, aside from those, this is a dream classic space base!!! bravo!!!

Great! That's exactly the feeling I was hoping to invoke!
Quoting Marc dZ That is exactly the base I was dreaming of when I was a kid!! Respect!! Very faithful to the classic space spirit, there's no doubt. I like very much some of your inventions: missiles, raised landing zones, radar-dish, dorms for crew... Brilliant!!

That was a tough call. I went with the landing platforms instead. I don't know how to make a crater look similar to the original sets...honestly didn't think of the craters...
Quoting Locutus 666 What an incredible-cute-nice-let-the-CS-Heart-beatin-moon-base-moc!!! :D i like how u increase the monorail like it was included in one Classic-set. 1 thing to ask: why didnt u use some of those crater-baseplates?

I used piece #2642 from the bricklink reference catalog for the ramps. They originally came in harbor sets...
