About this creation
The Seagram building, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in collaboration with Philip Johnson, is located at 375 Park Avenue in New York City. It was designed as the headquarters for the Canadian distillers Joseph E. Seagram's & Sons. The 516 foot tall International style skyscraper was completed in 1958. The 38 story facade has vertical non-structural bronze I-beams covering a concrete shell. It was the world's most expensive skyscraper at the time of its completion.
This is my first serious MOC and the first time I have experimented with SNOT techniques. The model is built on a scale of 1 stud = 4 meters. I used loads of brown tiles, modified 1x2 grill, to suggest the vertical bronze I-beams.
During construction of the model I discovered that Google Streetscape is an excellent resource for examining the exterior details of a building. I built the model using that resource in combination with other photographs that I found online.
Very nice work on this! But I agree with the comment below me, big pics would help us appreciate your talent to its highest degree! You've got some great techniques going on here, keep it up!
nicely done, but, try to upload BIG pics, so that we don t have to click on them, unless a specific detail interest us, to see even better, just a suggestion to make it more enjoyable appreciating your talents! great piece!
