My assignment for this round was to build a scene or story from the filmography of the American director/producer/artist Tim Burton. Believe it or not, I had never heard of the guy. Thankfully, I had already seen a few of his movies (just didn't know it) and ended up choosing scenes from three classic stories that he directed. It is kind of impossible to capture in Lego form Mr. Burton's mad genius. But I tried... so here is something dark, something surreal, and something quirky - qualities that seem to stand out in his versions of these classics.
Enter the world of Tim Burton...
In Tim's version of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", the headless horseman came from a special entrance which led to a very dark and dreary place… HELL
Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland was really Alice’s' return to Wonderland....magical doors, giant mushrooms, and endless possibilities.
Charlie and the Chocolate factory...inside the Bucket house: cabbage soup for dinner, grandparents staying warm in bed, and Charlie returning with his golden ticket.
Sorry for the lateness of my comment! Your creation was just great! You recreated three of his great movies. I love that tree and chase from "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", Alice's dress and all the house from "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". I am fascinated with that bed! It's really great! You've been a fantastic opponent! I hope I can see you next year!
Each part of your MOC is easily recognisable for a Tim Burton fan like me and such truely brilliant details like the askew door in the Charly part makes it even harder for me to give my vote to your opponent. But in the end, he managed to capture the classical Tim Burton atmosphere a bit better.
I really like all the work you put into these builds. The Bucket's house is particularly nice. However, my vote goes to your opponent. Thank you for sharing your take on the category.
That's a shame about the uploader problems, but you've got a strong entry in here regardless. I agree with Leda about the Bucket house - some great details like the wonky door and iron bedheads really make that scene for me. Best of luck with your judges! :)
I'm sorry you didn't get all the photos uploaded that you wanted but the entry still works well as it is. Each set you have made is well presented here I think. Great details in all of them. The Bucket's house is my favourite. Good luck!
