Annie Corder vs Giovanni Seynhaeve in:
And Now for Something Completely Different - Build a scene or story based on the work of the British comedy troupe Monty Python.
About this creation
I've had alot of bad luck with this, and am now posting it late, but we'll see what come of it all.
The link to the MO homepage.
The link to Gio's awesome entry.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail miniland people have been done before, so I tried to make mine as original as possible. Also I was going to make the bridge exactly like the one in the movie, but I ran out of time.
With that said: sit back, relax and put your British accent on. It's time for something completely different. ;)
Bridge Keeper: "STOP!! He who wishes to cross the bridge of death, must answer me these questions three, ere the other side he see."
Sir Lancelot: "Ask me the questions Bridge Keeper. I am not afraid."
Bridge Keeper: "Wwwwhatt, is your name?!"
Sir Lancelot: "Sir Lancelot of Camelot"
Bridge Keeper: "Wwwwhatt, is your quest?!"
Sir Lancelot: "To seek the Holy Grail."
Bridge Keeper: "Wwwwhatt, is your favorite colah?!"
Sir Lancelot: "Blue."
Bridge Keeper: "Right, off ya go."
Sir Lancelot: "Oh, thank you... Very much."
Sir Robin: "That's easy!"
Bridge Keeper: "STOP!! Wwwwhatt, is your name?"
Sir Robin:"Sir Robin of Camelot."
Bridge Keeper: "Wwwwhatt, is your quest?"
Sir Robin: "To seek the Holy Grail."
Bridge Keeper: Wwwhatt is the capitol of Assyria?"
Sir Robin: "I don't know that! "
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Bridge Keeper: "STOP!! Wwwwhatt, is your name?"
Sir Galahad: "Sir Galahad of Camelot!"
Bridge Keeper: " Wwwwhatt, is your quest?!"
Sir Galahad: " To seek the Holy Grail!"
Bridge Keeper: "Wwwhatt, is your favorite colah?!"
Sir Galahad: "Blue-no-"
"YEEEELOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!
Bridge Keeper: "STOP! Wwhatt, is your name?"
King Arthur: " Arthur! King of the Brittains!
Bridge Keeper: "Wwwhat, is your quest?"
King Arthur: "To seek the holy grail!"
Bridge Keeper: "Wwwhatt, is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?"
King Arthur: "What do you mean? African or European Swallow?"
Bridge Keeper: "Huh, I, I don't know that!"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!
Sir Bedevere: "How do you knooow, so much about swallooows?"
Arthur: "Well. you have to know these things when your king, you know?"

______________A video of the scene.
So, this was litterly something completely different for me. I had never done anything miniland scale, and I knew almost nothing about Monty Python. After watching it though, it quickly became one of my favorite movies. If you've never watched it, then you should. It's well worth it. :)

Really nice job on one of my favorite scenes from Holy Grail. Despite the fact that your not moving on, you've shown that you are a rising talent around here and it's been a pleasure seeing your creations.~H
Great job! You really rendered one of my favourite scenes in LEGO incredibly well! Too bad you were against Giovanni, you still did fantastic in the competition!
Thanks for inspiring me to watch this movie. I was actually annoying my wife last night - she didn't want to give up the laptop, especially not for quirky English humor. I think it's funny how many of us chose miniland scale in Round 4. I think at least 4 out of 16.
My vote goes to your opponent, Annie. Both your entries are amazing and since both of you worked in miniland style, it was easier for me as a judge to compare them. The amount of details earned Giovanni my vote.
I like it

My favorite part is when the French guard on the wall taunts them. "I will fart in your general direction!" ROFL. Though I forget what else he says.
Ms. Corder,
This build is absolutely fantastic. You really captured the essence of the scene and it's one of my favorites. Giovanni is a tough opponent (believe me, I know) and in the end, he earned my vote. Thank you for sharing your take on the category.
~Dave
This is my favorite MP scene. Nice to see it done with 'the Annie Touch'!!! I love the little canyon and all its green and rocky details too! Good Luck. Girls Rule! :)

Annie! What a shame that you posted this so late, it is awesome! The knights are so accurate, love what you did for the sun on arthur's chest. Good luck with your judges!
haha! I LOVE that film! I'm a HUGE Monty Python fan and have acted several of their sketches on stage. Brilliant job, I like the fact you didn't use minifigs and the characters are brilliantly built. Very easily recognizable.

Very nice Annie! All the mini-land figs look great and quite accurate. Well done! If I were judging I think you'd have my vote; I like that you just stuck with one scene. Good luck!

Annie your landscape is incredible! Great work on getting that just right. I really like how rough and grey it looks, just like in the movie. Also excellent work on the guys. The very best of luck to ye.

Annie, I just read the question thread in the group. You will not be held accountable for MOCpages not working correctly. Your entry IS legal. Judges, please vote as you will. My vote still goes with Gio. Good luck with the other judges! ~Chris.
Thank you so much! And I understand why you voted for Gio. It was a great idea to do a bunch of different scenes.

I'll give you a pass on the timing issue because of the uploader problems. So, looking at both builds, I really like how you handled the figs. Very expressive and detailed. I was also impressed with the scale of the set--huge! However, Gio gets my vote on the sheer number and complexity of his builds, which are all completely different. I must admit it was a close one though...Good luck with the other judges!
Wow this is really good! I have never seen Monty Python but want to. Compared to the video your entry was really accurate! The miniland guys looked great! Good luck :)

doing something completely different like miniland was a good idea for this round, because it turned out very well. The people are perfect scale and they looked just like the movie. You really captured the humor of the scene in this. Good luck!
Excellent Annie, that's fantastic. You've captured the feel, the comedy, the camera angles everything perfectly. Well done. Love that film. At art school my flatmates and I could barely have a conversation that didn't involve at least one quote from this movie. Good luck!
