This could be my last MOC for a while, this really took it out of me, so here goes...
Presenting the Lego Star Ship Nemesis. LSS Nemesis is a multi role cruiser with a crew of 6, currently assigned to exploring the Brion system. Nemesis was designed and built in space with no planet fall ability (spacers leave the rockhopping to someone else).
Here she is in space...
Nemesis has a total of 7 decks, as shown in this cutaway, and has an interior shell surrounded by the black ablative armour exterior.
decks 1 and 2 principally contain the EVA activities of the ship and hold the landing bay with room for 3 travel pods plus the suit locker and principal airlock. Attached to the pod bay is a maintenance workshop and above the airlock is the control system for the remote VR probe.
deck 3 holds both the command centre and the gravity & environmental systems. The design of the pod bay also means that the door to the ladder up to deck 2 is a pressure door as the tube leading up depressurises with the pod bay.
deck 4 is the widest deck on the ship and has the most protection from cosmic radiation and particles, so house the crew's living quarters. Each crew member gets a small cabin (the captain and 1st officer get slightly larger ones) and there is a bathroom at each end plus a small lounge in the centre.
decks 5 to 8 hold the engineering section at the aft of the ship and in the fore there is the medical centre, the droid bay, the primary weapon system, cargo and equipment storage, a further large airlock and the ship's artificial intelligence (so it actually has a crew of 7) plus of course the heavily shielded jump drive system.
Great work, both this and the second version. I love how there's space for all of the things that you'd need in a ship that travels in deep space. I also like the labels explaining it all, such as "More pipes" :) An impressive creation.
Amazingly detailed interior ! There are a lot of nice details (the washbasin in the bathroom is great !) and a lot of different rooms. I always admire people who are able to create such huge MOCs on LDD...
I like this alot. This is an awesome huge minifig scale ship. Gotta love LDD, huh? I enjoyed all the different rooms and their functionality. The cutaway view of the side of the ship reminded me of a mall directory for some reason. I kept looking for the Starbucks or Hot Topic, lol.
