I'm wondering how many times you dropped that in the video
Not once, nor has the sword ever broken during swinging :) I use to do sword sparring with my brother, we can handle a 4 feet broom handle pretty well LOL :) As long as you know the balance of your weapon your fine. |

i agree with kain, it doesnt look strong enough to be swinging about like that.
It most deffinately is that strong, and yes it is too long to be Sting, thats why I said inspired by Sting. Sting is also a 1 hander dagger, this is a 2 hander sword. :) |
|
|
i just realized, that sword is way too long to be sting- i have a replica of sting hanging in my hallway. |

Thank you to everyone for your wonderful comments, I did not expect this sword to be this big a hit. I do want to continue the theme but for the next few weeks it is all time dependant. |

That is impressive!! I'm very fond of the design and the colors: the trans-blue bricks of the edges really make it (on the movie). And it looks so strong... Did you put a metal axle inside?
Great job! 'Waiting for the shield... lol
No metal rod, the SNOT use on the guard acts as bracing for the swords weak spot. It worked quite well :) |

Wow! Impressive piece of work here...that is a very cool Sting. More impressive is the fact that Mel doesn't look to put out to be the model! My wife(also Melissa), would have at least given me a snarky look for making her pose for me!
Believe me when I say I was surprised myself lol. Mel normally doesn't want to do anything with the Lego except comment on progress :) I was happy chappy with this :D |

Lol this really was a quickie, took between 2-3 hours last Thursday night. |

I'd like to see Mel swinging it too;) I don't know how you made it solid to the point it doesn't break, but that's quite a feat.
The SNOT work on the guard acts as bracing for the weak spot between the handle and blade. The blade does flex a little too. |

Quite a feat of engineering, Chief! It's one thing to make something look like a sword, it's entirely different to have it strong enough to swing around like that. Well done! And Mel was a real sport to play along! |
