Supermarine Spitfire
This Spitfire was technically the first large scale plane that I built out of Lego. It probably is my favorite British WWII plane. But it seems like I chose the wrong plane for starters. From what I hear, the Spitfire is a difficult plane to build. I almost didn't load it, but changed my mind. So here it is!
About this creation

I couldn't figure out how to do a reasonable three--blade propeller, so I just had to make do with this.

This is a technique I came up with to hold the plane in flying position:

Thanks for your opinion. I realized that. Yes, I agree, brown would be better.

Quoting Ace Creations Good job, is this your first WWII MOC? Just keep plugging along with it and don't be afraid to make updates! Keep up the good work!
Yes, it is my first WWII MOC. It is actually my first minifigure scale plane. Thanks for the comment. I'm looking forward to your Spitfire!

Quoting MortalSwordsman . Hi LBJ. Nice Spit! It is a very difficult plane to build especially at this scale. It looks very swooshable and great fun to play with. The stand is also excellent. So you are building a 458? a beautiful car but another very difficult build. I am sure you will do it justice. Good luck with the fins. I am not sure which pieces you should use but lego have produced some new parts recently that might be useful - part: 4616842. Check them out on BL. Good luck, cant wait to see it.
Thanks for the comment...But this is LBS. My brother got the message though.

A good effort - but not your best. The thing that really sets Spitfires apart is their beautiful oval wing shape. I don't think anyone has got it right at small scale from what I've seen. A decent enough MOC though, 3/5

Quoting Nick Barrett A very good try - I commend your effort, and your timing... It's a Supermarine Spitfire, though.
Thank you very much for the correction! Didn't realize my mistake!

Nice shaping on this Spitfire. You got the wings quite well. The display stand for the flying plane is cool!

You might try this one: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2712 I've got one from the Technic set 8640 "Polar Copter".

Nice! Imo its the best looking prop plane ever and you did a good job recreating it. The wings do look a little square though.
