This is the 5900 shovel that was built by Marion Power Shovel Co. to work at Peabody Coal's Lynnville Mine in Indiana. The machine was the last of the great stripping shovels ever built in the U.S. and it wielded a 105 cubic yard bucket! Sadly, the machine was idled after a historic cross-country trek and scrapped in the early 2000's. RIP Marion 5900.

Thanks Sir! I'm glad you like it. Sometimes I go back and look at it and think I may have made the boom a little too long and ran it a bit too steep. I just hate to redo it; running all those "cables" to the same length in this smaller scale is like buidling a ship in a bottle, lol. Thank you for the compliments! :)
