For a couple of contests, turned out to be a great opportunity to try out some new ideas and technical goodies.
About this creation
Backstory:The DeTomaso company went out of business due to reliability issues and (in my opinion...)poor designs. Their last car was the Guara. Bleh.
MY Backstory: In 2003 with sales falling and the Guara losing customers, The De Tomaso company decided to overhaul itself, and its car. They cut ties with Ford, and in an effort to increase reliabililty, the company turned to Honda/Toyota/Subaru/Nissan(pick one). They built themselves and new engine together with this company, and then they turned to an older chassis to cut design costs. Since they were nearly out of money at this point, they had to keep a bunch of the original features of their old study. The new car had only a few safety and performance upgrades, but remained nearly unchanged in principle. Take a guess...

The front, with a nearly identical hood and light set up.

The side, which still uses two tone colors to create the illusion of a smaller frame.

The rear tires were a major change.

Everything opens conventionally, and the doors have handles...Of Course!

The new turbo V-10.

The new tires. (Yeah, I see the gap, I like the gap...=P)

The chassis

Vertically mounted 3speed transmission...hopefully this is groundbreaking to someone besides me.

The limited slip differential, works great!

The interior, full of simple features.

Things are shifting about...

...The company kept it simple to svae money and lower the pricetag.

The rear spoiler was one of the few extras they tacked on...

...and those hood vents(at least the fancy design, the hood vents were needed)

Rear suspension

Compressed, dunno why I took these photos.

For the non-believers??

That's right, Chincillas can build technic. Even the wild ones have a few sets in their burrows. =P

Bird's eye view, hopefully not a bird of prey. The Chincilla's arch enemy.

Technic bits of wonder! Okay, so they're pretty basic.

Headlights. Also a major flaw in my backstory, since pop up headlamps have been outlawed in a bunch of places.

Hey wait... you saw nothing!

Bird's eye view as it swoops in to capture a chincilla for breakfast land peacefully on the car.

Thanks for viewing!
