CACU (Compact Aerial Combat Unit)
About this creation

Overview

The Compact Aerial Combat unit is designed to be as small a fighter as possible while still comparable to more conventionally sized aircraft. Its is has a wingspan of 8.5 meters and is 7.5 meters long. They are known for their remarkable ability to take off quickly.

Anatomy

The CACU fighter is highly compact, and lacks parts seen in other fighters, the most prominent being the lack of landing gear. Almost 90% of the CACU's mass is fuel, ammunition, and hull. They are equipped with three scramjets to provide the main thrust and four smaller pulsejets to increase agility.

Functionality

CACUs are often used as defense planes because the do not need as much time or runway space to take off. One of the most useful features the have is the cannons on the lower wing, which can rotate to inflict a broad field of damage, or can follow a target. These cannons may rotate up to 360 degrees, which allows the CACU to fire at pursuing aircraft without difficulty.

Other Notes

  • CACUs have special racks from which they can be launched without use of a runway.

  • A CACU can achieve a maximum speed of 3,000 mph.

Okay, here's my review. Alright, so I really enjoyed the shaping of this, it has a classic feel to it, but at the same time retains a unique style to it with the features you used. Features such as the engines and the hazard colored bricks of the cockpit were very nice uses of parts that really made the detail work of this MOC stand out nicely. Another aspect that made the details pop was the color scheme, the balance of Orange and Grey in key areas really is what added to the detail work. If this is the direction you're taking your work, you said that you were venturing for Bio., I look foreword to seeing more. Overall, very nice work on the shaping and coloring of this MOC, both came together to make this MOC great.
