MedLink Medic 8 (Critical Care Ground Transport)
About this creation
MedLink Medic 8 is a 2012 International DuraStar with a custom specialized medic body by LifeLine. Running as MedLink's critical care transport unit, M-8 is fully equipped as a Mobile Intensive Care Unit, or MICU. Medic 8 serves additional purposes, such as a triage unit for major incidents, mass casualty unit, neo-natal transport unit, inter-hospital transport unit, and more. The main functions for Medic 8 are transporting to and from Guardian Children's Hospital (Medic 8's home base), transporting critical patients to waiting Medevacs over 1,000 ft. away, and transporting multiple patients in the event of an MCI.

The Critical Care Transport Team is comprised MedLink's elite members. Aptly nicknamed the "Concrete Angels", only twelve members are employed on the CCTT at any given time, making it the most hard-to-enter team in existence. All CCTT members are certified EMT-Is, EMT-IIs, Paramedics, and Rescue Medics. Medic 8's crew of 6 is made up of one chauffeur, one officer, two EMTs, and two doctors in the transport compartment with the patient.

Yes, I bought a MedLink T-shirt. Custom designed.

Here's the back.

*I designed a stretcher lift a while back, but I was never going to put one on M-8. Thanks to Christian Collins for inspiring me to do it.
*IV holder is credited to West Brickwich Fire, nice design!
*Liscence plate I chose for two reasons:
J: James
28: Lucky number, and birthday
*MedLink turnout was made from Paulo R.'s turnout coat design, which is also used by the White Ridge chiefs.

**NOTES**
Finally, here she is! I had to borrow some plates from M-12 and R-1, so I'll just wait for their replacements to arrive then do a group shot before the snow flies (hopefully). I had a lot of fun on this build, both builds actually. I think it's some of my best work yet. How about you guys? This one's for all of you MedLink members that have helped us get to where we are today. Couldn't do it without you guys!

Quoting Bricktown Fire Dept. Again, nice rig, but the IV holder is my idea.
Yes, both WBVFD and you have made that clear. Now it states that it was your idea three times on this page.

Quoting Zak Overmyer I love it James. Just love it. The only thing I see wrong is, how does the stretcher turn to go inside after being lifted?
Well you see, MedLink contracted Stryker to custom design a stretcher for the CCTT. This stretcher has a pivot point that allows it to swivel separately from the wheel assembly, which easily slides in. Wow, I'm surprised that sounded as good as it did...

Quoting Paulo Rodriguez I love it James, I want one of those shirts, could you email me the info? Those decals are awesome, great use of them, also need those! Haha, This is a great unit, the front is very James K original, maybe to long but very sexy overall! -Paulo R.
Thanks Paulo! I'll send you the info, but it costs a little more than you'd probably like to pay. The only reason I bought it is because I had a $10 coupon for the website.
