Deep into the borderlands, and just on the edge of the uncharted lands of the south, lies the Azure Lake Keep. A likeness of Aran-Salath, the great elven paladin stands guard and as warning to those who would seek entry...
About this creation

I tried to go big, but my collection still does not allw for that! I don't like to use the wall plates on the castle, but I needed to. Hopefully soon I can get back to Bricklink and stock up. This one was really fun to build, now that I have a few MOC's under my belt I was able to try some new things with this. Unfortunately with work and kids it started to get tedious. For the last month it was right here, and I just rushed to finish it so I can move on. Hope you all like it, and tips are always appreciated(building tips or monetary....)

Quoting Chris Phipson Coulda sworn I commented on this... Anyway, LOVE that tower man! Been working on some stuff with towers myself and it's always nice to see how others approach it so I can steal... I mean "borrow" techniques. hehe Thanks for sharing! ~ Chris.
Thanks Chris, definitely looking forward to what you put out(I mean that in the most platonic way possible)

This looks good, and the concept is great. My tip: don't try to stretch your collection too much, it does get to the point where it becomes obvious. I feel scaling down just slightly here would have given you room with resources to polish off the major features of the dio. I see you are using base plates too, remember you don't have to fill the entire space :) I quite often leave room on the sides for a border where I think I won't fill an area properly. You will get there Kayne, and this is a step up again from previous builds, Well Done! :) ~Thoy

Thanks Thoy. As I was trucking along on this, I kept thinking I could make up for the weak spots, but I definitely ran short. I already started planning the next build, and it is quite a bit smaller so I can be more detailed.

Quoting JS Can Nice work, but the the photos don't really show the island statue very well.
Thanks, I noticed the same thing later in the night after I had posted....I may see if I can get a good shot of that in there.

Nice.I'd say that tower technique got really tedious with you having to stretch your collection.

I like the tower design, using the round 1x1 and the 1x2 bricks to make it circular. You still have waaaaay more light gray bricks then I ever will.
