Well, Nearing The 20K Mark In Brick Count Is Certainly An Achievement In Its Own Right. However, using said ~20k Pieces to create such a detailed MOC is beyond achievement status, this is an epic, but instead of being made up of words form the mouth an experienced story teller to create the journey, it's bricks laid down by the mouse strokes of a talented builder. Nice work on this, can't wait to see it's completed form. Oh, I wasn;t going to say anything, but I thought you would have liked to known that I reposted one of my old MOC pages, but I added quite a bit of content.

OMG!! A massive naked ship!! Lol... Very interesting this bug BTW.

Thanks for visiting my Ship of the Line.
That is some nasty bug! One question: Is your poseidon a fictional ship of your own or are there a reference pics on where you´re heading with this behemoth?
You're welcome, fellow builder! Don't thank me for coming to admire your masterpieces! My favourites things here are boats, and you make more than improving the global level of sea creations on Mocpages! Poseidon, as my previous Titan submarine, is total improvisation and inspiration(of course with my small knowledge of the military line ships). When I miss some inspiration, I just read about it and look at some modern warfare ships. My idea is to reintroduce the Ironclad as a value for future battleships(they've been mainly replaced by Aircraft carreer), thanks to new materials, nuclear power, and science improvments... But you will find my hull classic, maybe boring, because it's quite "straight" and "flat". I don't like at all modern designs, with simple geometric shapes, to make them more stealth. I'm quite ashamed when I see your hull designs! I hope you like it though! Thanks for commenting too, my friend! =) |

Hey, about the background, you can do one of two things, the simple way is while you are in Build Mode, close the panels, go to the Toolbox Menu and use the snapshot feature (Ctrl K is the Keyboard shortcut), this will only take a snapshot of your MOC, so no background, but only in Build Mode, this will still give you a background in View Mode. You can also remove the background from the Snapshot by turning on the Advance Rendering and Shading Options, this can be done through the Edit menu and selecting Preferences. By turning these on, even in View Mode, this will produce a snapshot of only your MOC, no background. From there you can edit the PNG file with a photoshop, it is here you can change the background to any color you need or add graphics. If you have any issues with either of the methods mentioned above, let me know. Also, if you use the first method, please thank Green Ghost, as he was the one who brought the trick to my attention.

Because I know my transporter cost a lot and it's at least 20x smaller lol YEEEEES for the helipad! I agree with the others, a helipad would be a good upgrade. What about the additonal weapons array? Will you add any kind of missile/torpedo launcher? ASW hedgehogs? Depth charges?
The side guns are ok, but (in my humble humble humble opinion) in a turret would have more firing arc. Maybe one in the bow and one in the stern, or in the front and the rear of the citadelle.
congratulations!
The helipad is planned! I swear my friends!
"Will you add any kind of missile/torpedo launcher? ASW hedgehogs? Depth charges?"
Well, not completely decided, but I know I've got to integrate some. Maybe all types! I've got some ideas, but I'll keep the surpise until the next post, because i've got to experiment them before! I've already tested the firing arc for my mounted side guns, and find it not optimal, but "satisfying". =) |

Oh i am SO looking forward to seeing this completed! Wether circumstances allows you to build it or not, it will still be epic when you finally complete the process. I know this is a bit early, but may i suggest an aicraft carrier for your next project? If you can fix the current problems with your LDD program i am sure you could pull it off - and superbly so :-) I am happy to see you had already planned those big cannons, poseidon looks really fierce with them on it! The side cannons looks nice too, they add quite a bit to the overall look. You could add an extra set on the level below them, the second set placed closer to the front end of the citadel. Are you planning to make the citadel slope downwards towards the rear? It looks very different from the one on ares :-) I too agree a helipad in the rear would look great! As a partially side-mounted one perhaps? I am also still rootin' for 3 of those goalkeeper 30 mil's evenly distributed on each side :-D
Wow! I love to see so enthousiastic people arround my creations! This would now be a bit difficult to place some weaponry bellow that, and I like it this way. I have no precise idea yet but this will be a bit like thi: "the citadel slope downwards towards the rear". The helipad is already planned! I swear! Thanks for your advice and comments, buddy! |

Honestly, I didn't think that this would end up as a warship (I thought it was gonna be a cargo ship or something), but it really suits the warship image. Keep going! Oh, and hurry up, I have concerns about the future of buying your own models from LDD! |

You are a lego animal. This really amazing work. As a fellow LDD user I know what a feat this is. Great work Jay. Those side cannons came out really nice. |

Jay this looks amazing! I agree with the below, add a helipad :-) Have you seen my Mercedes transporter? It's my biggest project yet and I did a bit of it on LDD. It's in the brick now and looking gorgeous on my table :-) I'd be interested to know how much it would cost to actually build your poseidon? Because I know my transporter cost a lot and it's at least 20x smaller lol |

Alright, before I go rambling off about how incredible this is, I actually have a suggestion. Maybe move the front turret forward 2 or 3 studs? They look somewhat crammed together to me. As for the rest of the ship, its just wonderful and it keeps getting better! Hopefully LDD holds together long enough for you to finish this! It's amazing! |

I am also still rootin' for 3 of those goalkeeper 30 mil's evenly distributed on each side :-D |

I have to agree with darkwolf 222 that you should put a helipad, that would be a nice addition. But I have never seen you make a helicopter so that would be very interesting! |

Nice additions, are those side guns in true Jay fashion, are they manned and sealed off? They look cool!! Have those windows always been down on lower decks? They seem new to me... nice either way lol. Can't wait till its done, man. So close... ~cheers |
