The Colonial Defense Fleet Frigate ARIES by XIOTA SpaceWorks
About this creation
The Colonial Frigate ARIES is the backbone of the Colonial Defense Fleet, acting as a mobile base of operations for diplomacy, defense, search and rescue, patrols, exploration, and deployment of navigational resources.
Her impressive 10 interior bays in addition to the central main bay can host a myriad of cargo and strategic operations assets for the Colonial Fleet. Versatile and formidable, the ARIES instantly becomes the pivot point of all sector operations.
----
The ARIES was inspired by the initial picture releases for the Lego Super Star Destroyer, and wanting to have a mini-fig playable version beyond the very simple command center in that set.
The top plating is attached to the body magnetically, which allows easy access to the floor panels underneath, and the panels are layered to allow for multiple levels of play. Interior shots located here:
If there are specific photo queries or questions, I'll be happy to answer in the comments.

WOW ! I love this kind of huge minifig-scale ship !
I keep wanting to do a micro-scale, but I like to build the "bridge" and engineering section interiors too much with the figs, so for now its my inviolable rule to make minifig scale. Thanks for stopping by! |

Awesome ship, Chief! I didn't realize it was minifig scale. I suggest loading the pics in Large format, however, so it's easier to see without having to click them. Excellent build!
I may go back and try and get it to do that. Definitely not an HTML guru! |

HAAAAA yes yes yes yes YEEEEES !!!!! Wicked ship !! Ilove the rear part !!!
Christophe that rear part was, all pun intended, a pain in the ass. I had built it before getting inspired for the front wedge shape, and somehow fused the two together. Its a little flimsy and needed some structural rethink before it would hold its own weight cantilevered. |

OH MY GOSH. This is just amazing! :D Looks like some sort of star destroyer... I love how all your massive ships can still hold minifigs in them. :)
In the interiors section, I commented that I was inspired to build it "star-destroyer-esque" when I saw Lego's super star destroyer pictures leak early in the year. I was disappointed in the very minor mini-fig playability of the set, and decided I could do better! Lego is meant to be played with ;) Thanks for stopping by! |

Hey man great job on the Aries. Really like the shape and all the details. Great job and keep it up. Also nice job on the photoshop on your man photo.
Believe it or not I was able to do it with a little patience in MS Paint! Thanks for keeping an eye on my creations and the invite to your group. I am happy to join. Cheers! |
