I used to build Robotech/Macross Valkyries all the time as kid, and they were also super poseable and could transform. But I didn't have the joints that you used at the time. And now that I see one properly built with them, and works, I've done my own version, but with improved 3-joint legs for a proper gerwalk, and gave the arms shoulder joints for full articulation. I'll post my version once I take pictures, but right now I'm buying parts to mimic yours in smoothness, so it's going to be a while longer before I take photos. Anyways, keep up the good work. Also, think you can do the VF-2SS from Macross II? =3
This is so awesome I think my eyes will explode soon. I grew up with Robotech and Skull Leader is probably my favorite mech of all time. I threw down my support on your CUUSOO page months ago, as I am DYING to build one of these.
HOWEVER...as a fan of Robotech, I am aware that the merchandise licensing for the line is really, really screwed up these days. Like, many new products have failed to see the light of day because there are so many parties involved in the license that most projects are choked to death in legal limbo. I really, really, *REALLY* pray that doesn't happen to your MOC, and I also dearly hope that, if it is ultimately approved and goes into production, that LEGO doesn't compromise your original design in a negative manner.
All that said, I want to ask...if LEGO rejects this build, or they modify it too heavily and it isn't as awesome as your build is, would you consider making build instructions for this? I'm pretty sure I speak for everyone here when I say that would be truly heroic of you if you would!
