Very nice. Are those normal "cowboy" style hats with a white band? Looks good. I've been trying to figure out how to do a proper Royal Marine hat myself. Only issues I have is the sword/cutless and the musket go a bit far. One or the other would have been better. Also, since you used the older style Imperial Soldiers with the newer ones, it would have been better not to mix and match them. Put them in a seporate formation, or use them solely as officers. Very jealous of your Red Coats.
Hello Chap, cheers for the review, i'm pleased you like the Royal Marines. The hats are indeed the cowboy hats from the western series, with a white band and plume.
I experimented with using the top hat(orient) but it didn't look good and it completely clashed with the Royal Navy Midshipmen.
I thought long and hard about how to put the cutlas and sea service musket together on the figure, the cutlas holder as seen on potc just didn't look good. Certainly the marines on my Frigates only carry a musket on board (as they would have done in the Georgan Navy).
I think you will enjoy the next batch of mocs coming next week, lots more marines and lots of cannon !
