St. George's Day
Built for CCC IX's Medieval Holiday catagory, this MOC shows a play being put on to honor the honorable St. George. This part of the play depicts St. George in close combat with the deadly dragon.
About this creation
Firstly, I need to thank Ru Corder for talking me into joining CCCIX and, as a consequence, the CCC community. I also need to thank the CCC board for heading up this contest, as well as those who helped by donating prizes and whatnot. Now, to the MOC!

This is St. George fighting the dragon. He is taking shelter behind a rock.

A closer shot of the action.

Here's the point of view of St. George. Looks pretty toasty!

A minstrel, who is telling the story as well as playing accompanying music.

The crowd of villagers is enjoying the play. There wasn't very much entertainment available to commoners, so when some came along, all watched eagerly.

A collection is being taken up to pay the actors and thank them for a good show.

A less honest collection is being taken up here, as often happened in large crowds. The villager is having his purse cut.

For any who may have been wondering, these next few pictures show how different items wewe secured on the stage.

And a final shot of the dragon. I must say, I don't envy Saint George right now.

What a brilliant MOC! Great action and I'm envious of your dragon's head - I've never seen that one before.

I wish this were real! I would definitely go there and tip them a whole pound (a lot of money back then). The minstrel, actor and people are great, but the stage is a big win.

Quite historically accurate! The stage and scene look great, but I like all of the small details, like the minstrel, the pickpocket, and the landscaping! Very nice! - KP
