US Truck 4 (Log Truck)
US style day cab log truck with stinger steered log trailer in scale 1:17,5 with PF. It features solid axle suspension on all axles, driving, steering and Ackerman geometry on steering axle.
About this creation

At the very beginning of building truck models using LEGO I wanted to build this type of truck. It 's a log truck with a stinger steered log trailer. This is a common type of truck used in the US for the transportation of logs. When hauling without a load the trailer is stored on the trucks bunk using a log loader. Today many log trucks have even more axles but I wanted this model to have this specific axle configuration...basically because I just like the looks of it.

The Kenworth T800 is used as the main source of inspiration to build this model. Always looking for new color schemes I came up with this one. Since the Brick, Arch 1 x 6 x 3 1/3 Curved Top item 6060 is only available in a limited number of colors, not to mention the way out of line prices for some specific colors. With this in mind I started to combine colors and come up with the Dark Red/Orange/Tan color scheme. Together with all the chrome parts I think it's a beauty.

Since most of my models have much more functions you might think this one is less interesting. Never the less I build this one with the some love as with the others. Again I realy love this type of truck and with the loads of chrome and the distinguished color scheme I'm realy exited about the result. To be honest it was great fun to build this less complex model.

Quoting Paul ms amazing what kind of suspension dose it have? I am planning on making a rig but i don't no what kind of suspension most people use.
Not many truck builders use suspension in the first place. Truck Trial trucks of course do have suspension, but I mean "normal" trucks. I have developed my own suspension, so there is not many to choose from...

Quoting Martin Provo Great job! The rigs like this capture the imagination and are just great fun to look at. On a side note, you could use an online translator such as Google or Bing Translate in a pinch for posts of a different language.
Thanks! and I'll give an online translator a try, thanks for the note!

Thanks for the very nice comments to start with...!!!
Quoting Ape Fight ...Add in RC, for a MOC so heavy (which I've discovered is really hard to do)... ...Found this on The Lego Car Blog - http://www.thelegocarblog.wordpress.com. P.S You might be interested in joining this: http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/17724. It would be great to have your truck building skills on board : )
Thanks for the rating... :-) Using RC in these trucks is quite hard, you're right about that! Now that I have overcome the bumps it ain't that hard anymore. First trucks on the other hand caused me head akes that is for sure. Didn't noticed the blog till you wrote this, thanks, always nice being blogged. Thanks for the invitation, I did hasitate, but here I am...
Quoting MortalSwordsman . Hi welcome to the group :). I am not sure if this creation is appropriate for this group but what I am sure of is that It's AMAZING... ...It would be great if you could build a Race Car Transporter.
You're right, that is basically the reason I did hasitate. I couldn't stand the invitaion by "Ape Fight". A Race Car Transporter might be worth trying, I have planes on building a Car Transporter to start with...who knows what'll come.

Wow! AMAZING work again! It looks superb, especially with the chrome, which would get it a 5/5 on its own. Add in RC, for a MOC so heavy (which I've discovered is really hard to do) and I don't think the rating system applies anymore!... so, er, 6/5 : ) Found this on The Lego Car Blog - http://www.thelegocarblog.wordpress.com .
