Finaly the first semester is over and I got to shoot some pictures of this guy, that has been gathering dust since September. It's a machine influenced by Flyingdebris' Deviantart creations and the legs were inspired by RGF's AEGAKS compound legs as seen on Solice, though not nearly as elaborate as his version.
About this creation
The MAW Medium Assault Walker is designed mainly to fight light and medium armored vehicles and infantry. It's nearly 60 feet tall and can run pretty darn fast when chasing fleeing oponents.
The rear shot swows the medium tactical comms and sensors array on top of the torso and the not-nearly-as-elaborateness of the legs.
When out of action the mech's legs fold and the canopy opens to let the pilot out. To do so the main front sensor array swings out of the way.
The pilot lies comfortably on his back and all the information he needs are shown on the display covering the inner side of the canopy)
Buckle up, we're going in! The MAW is armed with a medium range missile launcher to deal with the armored targets. Four of the tubes contains five AP missiles each, the rest is usually taken up by HE warheads.
Secondary armament consists of the chin turret-mounted anti-personel MG. With four barrels it can tear up the enemy's infantry in no time, though it lacks the punch to deal with any real threat...
'What did you say about my gun?!'
The main weapon, however, is the four-barreled heavy gatling cannon (too big to be called a 'gun' anymore) firing 30mm AP rounds with about twice the force of the infamous A-10 Warthog's GAU-8 gatling. The vital components are shielded by armor plates that can be easily replaced in the field and provide partial protection to the torso too.
Well, this is one of my favorite creations and has been standing on my shelf for several months. Hope you like it and don't forget to comment, since you already came all the way down here.
