Welcome to my 1st year Mociversary! It has been a little over a year since I discovered MOCpages and disembarked from my Dark Ages thanks to stumbling across a 'boyzwiththemosttoyz' video on youtube. MOCpages has since become one of my favorite places to visit each day, this is one of the most genuine and supportive online communities I have had the pleasure of being apart of. Thanks to all who have taken the time to look and comment on one of my MOCs and/or one of our family lego projects. Your comments are a great inspiration! Since I have joined MOCpage I have favorited over 400 builders and liked over 1500 MOCs! If you want to see what inspires me, please check out them out.
About this creation
Now, onto the MOC...in honour of my 1st year MOCiversary I decided to do a two for one deal! First up is my 7-wide GT touring car. It is not inspired by any particular vehicle.
Next up is the Le Mans Racer, again it is not inspired by any particular vehicle. This one is 7-wide too, but narrows to 6-wide through the front fender. The section before the narrowing is slightly stressed due to the angled plate however it adds to the overall shape rather well.
Extra special bonus feature - a WIP of the Le Mans Racer! Thanks for visiting, feel free to rate and comment!
Cool! That GT looks very nice, the front end reminds me of an 80's mustang with the rounded headlights :-) It is difficult to capture the shape of a le mans prototype at this scale - especially with not too many bricks - but i can see what you were trying to achieve with this one. If you have them, try adding two more of those headlight pieces to make 2-wide headlights :-)
Thanks DeTomaso Pantera for your kind words! Yes, the blue/green one was a bit thrown together...I have just started to build my own collection now (seperate from the kids) so look forward to being able to build more MOC's in the near future!
Thanks Evstar, MS, Nils and Nick! The GT was completed first so got our only six wide windscreen. I will have to see what the LM looks like with it when I pull them apart. I have an interest in race cars, but do not really follow any championships. The V8 Supercars in Australia is really competitive, so that is good to watch every now and again. After building these two I decided it is time to try a production car, so will be having a crack at a 911 over xmas.
Hi Elk :). Happy mociversary. We must have joined at a very similar time in our lives (1 year ago and after having kids etc). I always enjoy your creations - well built and great fun. These two are no exception. I love them both especially as they are studded, the red is my fav. I didn’t know you were interested in race cars.
