LEGO pipe organ with console.
About this creation
My first opus. Inspired by the Karn-Warren (1900) built, Casavant-Frères (1999) restored organ at Holy Rosary Cathedral in Vancouver, BC and the Casavant-Frères (1969) organ in the UBC Recital Hall.
This organ (with console) was built from Dec. 22nd to Dec. 25th, 2003 during my winter break from school. Its construction was motivated by a desire to use pictures of LEGO organs on my fourth-year (non-required) organ recital posters. The intent was to superimpose part of the LEGO organ over a picture of the recital hall organ; in addition to this, I had some pictures solely of the organ, with rather silly, made-up works to be performed:
Fantasia in One Octave by Mr. Yellow Smiley-Face,
Block Mixture by Dr. "Rigid Legs" Bluepants,
Sonata for Windless Non-Hollow-Pipe Organ by Visored Space-Man Dude with Lightsaber and Atomic Destructor
Having seen many other pipe organs since building this organ, I will possibly embark on building a nicer, more accurate organ in the near future; perhaps I'll even make the pipes, console and organist all to scale!
