5867 (Alt. #3) Race Truck
Race version of an American long nose tractor truck. Only build with parts from Creator set #5867
About this creation
This time I had the idea to build an American long nose tractor truck using Creator set #5867. I started with the front of the truck and when I came to build the rear end, there were still a lot of parts left, including some tiles and arches. So I decided to make a race truck and added a big rear wing :-))

This is it:

So, this is my 5867 Race Truck.
I hope you like it :-))

Quoting Andras Horvath Just to be clear: I meant "cartoonish" as a compliment in my comment. :) As I looked at this truck again, it reminded me somehow of this car...probably because of the funnily oversized spoilers: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/289446
I know what you mean. I had a lot of fun with these spoilers :-)) But it could be a cool challenge to convert this model into a more "serious" one.

Quoting DeTomaso Pantera ... Not your best work but I forgive you because of the limited pieces ;-). ...
It wasn't supposed to be that, either ;-) That one was just for fun! It was like eating a Hot Dog instead of a 5-course menu: Both can be yummy but there is a big differenc between them :-))

Quoting Nathanael Kuipers It does indeed look a bit cartoonish, but that's not a bad thing! Reminds me a bit of the Mack truck from Cars.
You are right, I wanted to do something like "Mack" from cars, and first I wanted to make it more realistic. Then I came to the point to make the rear fenders and thought "No, let's get crazy!" and made the rear wing instead ;-)) Do you know Bob Ross, the TV painter who created a whole oil painting in each 30 min. show? Sometimes near the end of a show he said "Let's get crazy!" and started painting a big tree which then covered almost the half of a really beautiful landscape painting. So that's more or less what I did with the spoilers on this MOC :-D. I haven't dismounted the truck yet, maybe I'll modify it to make a more realistic version...

Cool truck! Not your best work but I forgive you because of the limited pieces ;-). The Star Wars sets are what brought me out of my dark age, I think I've had four dark ages ...I'm not going to let the sun set on my Lego for a while yet, I'm enjoying it far too much at the moment. So much inspiration to build but not enough time unfortunately. Happy Christmas to Nils and all in your part of the world. Tom

Quoting Andras Horvath Maybe this is the start of my second dark age (as in your bio).
In my case it was more a practical thing: I moved into my own flat after finishing my studies and I left my LEGO boxes in my parents' basement (it was a lot bigger than my one). That was the begin of my dark ages. I still had been building some cool stuff during weekends and holidays, before. Then, 3 years later, there came out the first Star Wars sets and the first LEGO found it's way onto the shelves of my new flat ;-)) Last summer I reorganized my basement, and finally the old LEGO boxes moved in, too. But they are still waiting down there. From time to time I go downstairs to get some classic parts that are no longer available.

I like the cartoonish look of this alternate. I had it among my plans to create a truck from 5867 myself - but can't find the time for it recently. Maybe this is the start of my second dark age (as in your bio). Thanks for the comment on my Bobcat!

I do like it. The rear and top spoilers are huge :) - serious down force. Another great alternate from you and this set. Merry Christmas Mr Nils O
