Tracked tank, heavy assault, close range, rotary cannon 50mm.
About this creation
The Pimm Industries B540-RC is produced by the company's heavy vehicle division and this model, again, is part of the Highlands Company.
Specification:
Weight: 54,431kg (60 tons)
Engine: Turbine powered by fuel cell technology
Crew: 4-5 (can be run by 2 if needed)
Main Weapon: Rotary Cannon - 50mm, 100 rounds/second
Secondary Weapons:
1) 50cal anti-personal machine gun (top mount)
2) 2X, 2 round, short range missiles (front mount)
Armour: Undisclosed. Laminate design with experimental energy
absorption properties. Double layered. Light weight.
Classification: Heavy tracked ground short-range assault tank.
B540-RC's (rotary cannon) role is toe-to-toe battle with other tanks. It is 20% wider than the B325 series and has a much larger turret (which give the tank a stubby look compared to the b325). This larger turret is required for the massive amounts of ammo needed for the rotary cannon, and for the increased armour.
Using a 50mm round with a depleted uranium core laminated with lead, then titanium, and finally copper. This semi-sabot round is especially effective against laminate armour; when the armour of the target has been thinned enough the uranium core will pierce the target and ricochet within destroying important electronics and internal soft targets.
The B540-RC uses an overly powerful turbine engine to close with its enemy rapidly as it holds no medium to long range anti-vehicle weapons. It carries a double layer of laminate armour (sounds redundant) to withstand the punishment of this close range combat.
The short range missiles are devastating at the intended close range, and a well placed shot is capable of disrupting the tracks of other vehicles. The 50cal top mounted machine gun is the only anti-personal armament the vehicle carries.

I may make the turret thinner so the tank doesn't look so 'stubby'

The chassis are the same length and height, the B540-RC is 2 studs wider.

I read what you said about making the gun thinner so it doesn't look so "stubby." You should make it longer, now it looks like it has a very oversized turret: which it does. Which isn't a bad thing, I wouldv'e made the gun longer, like minigun length. great moc. |

Great job. I think that this one looks better on a greebeling perspective. I do think that it needs more gunz. Not bigger, just more. One gattling is not enough. On a side note, it looks like the Gatling tank on Comand and Conquer: Generals |

Another smooth design in black equals another great tank. |

Very accurate scale for the mini-figs. The extra width over the B325-LA is better and looks more realistic. The turret and rotating canon looks impressive. Great work. |

Downright awesome. Solid black with trans-red highlights? Now that is my kinda thing! Nice gun too, and the tank itself looks practically invincible. |
