At 5:46am on the 25th of December the crew of Rescue 1 were called out to a prank call. Once they arrived on scene the crew were set upon by six hooligans. The crew were physically and verbally abused. Then the Rescue 1 itself was set upon. It was doused in petrol and then set alight. The hooligans then left the scene leaving a trail of destruction. Engine one and the Battalion chief responded to the scene. These pictures where taken at 7:00am on the morning of the incident. As you can see Rescue one was reduced to nothing but ash. The chief of the department John Farrel described the incident as a senseless act of vandalism, especially on Christmas day.
