Contest Entry - CE Drone
My entry to the Mecha contest ran by LTE.
About this creation
Well, heres my entry to the Mecha Contest. First of all, the link to the homepage: Mecha Contests, and links to the other entries (will update as more come along):
andros' C.H.I.M.P.
arik's Berserk
Bryce's Scimitar
Thomas' Viper
Maverick's Stalker
Marcus' Legionary
Chunk's Centurion

Now, on with the show!

The CE (City Enforcement)Drone is used by varous policing forces to help keep cities under control during rioting. Armed with a high-pitch siren on its tail, twin tasers on its arms, and a high-powered stun-gun on its back along with the rider.

Side view, I'm very proud of the legs. :)

Siren tail, used to bring crowds to their knees relatively painlessly.

Head and arms. The head is designed to filter all the senses into the larger disc at the top - the green disc handles sight - which is linked to the rider's headpiece. The twin tasers fire small golbs of energy, which remain on the body for roughly 10 seconds, electifying at a reasonable degree.

Finally the rider and the stun-gun. The rider sits in a seat on the drone's back - the pipes connect from the drone directly to the rider's helmet, which is used to conrol the drone neurally. The stun-gun fires a moderate beam of energy, which throws people back and paralyses them for a short time. Think of it as the water cannon of the future. ;)

From the Fourth: I'm pretty happy with how this turned out, especially since I'm not too used to working with beast-like designs. I'm not exactly sure how it would compare with the competition, so we'll just have to wait and see ;)

Quoting Andrew AKA Hump-Free And I somehow forgot to actually comment on the MOC while I was here, man I'm losing my mind, I wanted to say that I like the Coloring on this, it has a nice Cold feel to it, nice work.
Thanks. And trust me, you owe no-one an apology. Considering the effort you put into the stuff you do, you deserve to rant. ;)

It's alright, I didn't notice that the HTML wasn't working correctly, so it's understandable that you missed it, it's why I said something. And yeah, my life has been stressful as of late, but I shouldn't allow that to affect you guys, I owe each of an apology for my recent behavior.

this is a very interesting entry. very unusual, and I like that. Mecha that break the mold definitely get extra points for creativity and style. I like the overall feel to this mech, but I think it feels a little cramped, like you put too much onto to little. the coloring was well done. 3.5/5.

Quite a interesting entry. Well first I think that the color choice was great and that it really conveys the under water theme. My next point is that the minifigure is unnecessary. I agree with thomas, and find that it makes the mech look like more of an animal or a vehicle than a robot. But this is quite good, and given the originality of it 4/5. Nice work.

I have to say, this has to be the most original mech in the contest so far. I've never EVER seen a mech like this. I will agree with you, I really really like the way the feet turned out, very sleek and streamline. But that's the problem i have with this mech. Its not streamline. Now, not being streamline is not necessarily a bad thing, but this mech is so bulky and chunky that I honestly cant see how it could walk anywhere with its tiny legs. Overall, verry original but not very practical. My rating: 3/5 Not too bad (:

This mech has good and bad. Good: Would scare off protesters. Bad: Fearless protesters could run past it because it would have trouble turning (charging on the other hand...). Good: Nice shape and nice paint. Bad: Pilot is very exposed and some weapons would have trouble aiming. Given its faults it gets 3/5. Personal note: I would have preferred it to be a demolition mech and the sensory could be one heck of a cannon.

Very Futuristic and I like the coloration so I think 4/5.

As an original creation it's pretty nice, the design is good along with the parts usage. However I don't feel the "police" vibe, something is missing from this, maybe the colors are too few and I think the minifig is not necessary at all. 3/5

@ BiO: That is why some people call a police car a "Balck-and-White" 4/5

Hmm, interesting design, though I'm afraid I'm not a huge fan of your parts choice or the overall design. It just seems a bit bulky and not terribly practical as a design. Also, the colors don't really conjure up ideas of a police-like force, something with more a traditional red/white/blue color scheme, or a blue/white/black color scheme would work quite a bit better. Anywho, 3/5 is my rating.

Quoting ariklego ...The Director! robo-Tauntaun! :P very cool design. not even slightly what I expected from a DbM-er in a mini-Mech contest. :P I do have a few issues with it, namely poseability, its color scheme (that's probably just me), and its weaponry (I generally prefer to stick to military designs and kinda dislike police Mechs). otherwise, this is a spectacular Mech. by the way, you should really do some more with the body design you used here. I can really see that turning into some kind of giant worm thing.
Thanks. :) Do you have a ?/5 rating at all?

Quoting andros tempest Ok let's see: I like the choice of colours, the eccentric armour style and the low centre of gravity would be perfect for its function. The design of the Head is something I've never seen before and very distinctive. That said I was slightly puzzled by certain features, such as the tail siren, and wonder just how articulate the limbs are? I like it, and it certainly is original, but wonder if it might have benefited from just a little more time to refine the rear section. (I know I had much the same problem with mine, generating a new design to such a short deadline is something I'm not used to at all). I'm also not sure we get to see enough of the design to get a good sense of what's really going on. Maybe a few alternate poses? 3/5
I'm pleased with that, thanks for the opinion. :)

This is an awesome Mecha the elaborate, eccentric haphazard body really makes it a distinctive mech. This definitely deserves at least a 4/5
