McLaren MP4/5 Upgrade
I thought my longest surviving MOC deserved an upgrade. Since making a bricklink order for some nice new gleaming white pieces to replace the old yellowing white i had used on it before.
About this creation
I have also changed the sides to include the air intake and re modelled the back to make it look more true to the real thing.

This is one of my all time favourite F1 cars that was driven by my all time favourite driver, the legend that is Ayrton Senna Da Silva. RIP

I hope to get some decals for this so it will look even more realistic.

I love this quote...

And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high.

Ayrton Senna

Wow, what a fabulous MOC! Building F1 replicas in LEGO certainly isn't an easy task, and you mastered it perfectly. Great work!

you took a beautiful car and re-created it PERFECTLY into lego. Senna is my favourite driver and you created a lean mean, racing machine out of lego. well done 10/10

Quoting Daniel Chen your MP4/5 looks amazing, for years ive been trying to build a MP4/4 4/5 but i've never figured out how to pull off some of the things you did with this amazing creation, any chance you could make instructions with the list of required parts? because this is certainly the best of the best F1 Models out of lego ive ever seen
Hey Daniel! Thank you for your kind words! Unfortunately I don't make instructions for any of my creations. However I could reproduce this for you for a fee and I'm sure I could improve on this model too. You didn't leave any way for me to contact you, if you see this comment and leave your email address. Thanks again, Tom

FANTASTIC! No more words from me really. Especially love how you managed to build the nose, an angled and round-ish nose is very very hard to get right. If you only would get the wings a bit narrower, it would be perfect :)

Wow, great shapes all over this rocket! I love the color scheme, too - it´s so iconic and such an eye-catcher in addition. A very, very nice model! P.S.: Thank you for the great comment on my cargo aircraft:) Best regards, Steffen

Hey! I know I already commented on this but I just wanted to say thanks for your comment on my F40, that was really nice of you. And don't worry, I've actually been building quite a bit in the past few weeks, and if all goes well, I should be posting some new projects quite soon!

(In response to your comment on my creation) I would love to participate in your STEAM collaboration! What are your ideas for MOCs? I'm sure I could provide a car or two :) Also, if the display isn't necessarily just classic race teams, I do have my part built RC classic delivery truck I started building a while back... P.S. did you want to continue conversation over Flikr or in BBA?

That is an amazing update to an already amazing car! can't wait to see it with decals. I like the side vents they make it look even more realistic. One thing though, i would like to see some shots of the updated rear becuase there isnt any asa far as i am aware. Apart from that, amazing job! :D

That's a great update. I like details you've added a lot! The air intakes are beautifully shaped. And the white is so shiny now. Great job! :-)) By the way: Another model from the 80's with a "futuristic" sponsor *lol*

Yes the background is too small lol, that and the lens i was using on my camera will not focus if i get too close. Also i haven't installed photoshop on my new laptop yet so i can't crop the image. Those white lines are really bugging me. I'll get round to fixing it one day.

Ahh...I see someone else has old bricks. :) If you look closely at my Mazda (yes, it's mine - not my dad's. *edit* - I hope), you'll see I have those bricks too (because a lot of the white bricks my dad played with a lot of that I have). Excellent MOC, but it seems your background is too small :). Hahaha...I bet Mortal is glad that you got a new laptop so you won't keep on bugging him...wait, huh? Oh, he wants your photos so he can steal it easier! Ahh, very sly. :) ~LB Jr.

Quoting Nick Barrett Senna was certainly the greatest... it's good to see this again, too. I like what you've done with it, even if it doesn't have enough studs showing now... :-)
Haha thanks Nick, it has a lot of studs showing by my standards lol
