Volkwagen W12 Syncro
This is the Volkswagen W12 Syncro, a concept car built in 1997. It is named for its 12 cylinder engine, where the cylinders are arranged in a 'W' formation, essentially two V6 engines arranged side by side and connected to the same crankshaft. 'Syncro' comes from VW's Syncro all wheel drive system. While it was never put into production, several other versions of this supercar were designed, and even raced at the Nardo ring in Italy, setting various 24-hour records. This Lego version of the W12 Syncro has been sitting in my room unfinished for months, and I finally got a chance to finish it. I haven't built in yellow since my Lamborghini when I first joined MOC pages, and my collection of yellow has increased substantially since then, so this was a fun build. I chose this car because its design really caught my eye. I'll be honest, I feel like I rushed through finishing this guy, so it may not be quite up to the same standard as some of my other models, but I'm still pleased with it, and just happy to be building again. I hope you enjoy it!
About this creation
First some pictures of the car all around:

Next, some shots of the car with the doors open:

The interior: I didn't have quite enough dark blue to do everything, so there is some gray and black in the trim.

The engine cover opened up:

And here is the mighty W12 engine for which the car is named:

Now everything is open:

Now a closer look at the huge sunroof and roll-cage:

A close-up of the front:

The huge side air intake behind the door:

One of my favorite parts is the suspension, visible right in front of the windshield:

And that's it, hope you enjoyed it! Also, not to ruin the surprise, but this car has a partner MOC, much like my Enzo Ferrari, in the form of a mosaic... However, it is at school right now, so as soon as I go back, I will take pictures and post them.

Finally, for those of you concerned that I haven't been posting in a while, not to worry. It has been a busy semester, but I build when I can. Stay tuned for another MOC in the next few days; I already took pictures, I just need to get around to editing and posting them. I am also working on another big project currently which I am very excited about, but for the first time, I will be needing to order additional pieces specifically, so it may be some time before it gets posted. In the mean time, happy building to everyone, I always look forward to seeing new creations from everyone!

Nice car, it's a shame that vw made only a concept. It would've been cool to see it in production

Thank you everyone for such kind comments!
Quoting Lego Builders Unfortunately, although my Ferrari 458 Spider is completed and the pictures are already taken (they need editing, though) I can't post it probably until March/April. Also, how do you do your background for the pictures? And I hope you don't mind me asking, but are you in college? :) ~LB Jr.
I guess I will have to wait patiently for the 458, I can't wait to see though! To answer your questions, I use a sheet of plexiglass with a white background when I take pictures, and yes, I am.

Very cool, great job replicating the car! The one tiny little thing that bugs me is the gray droid arm on the roof, it should maybe be turned around so it bends up? Other the that, every other bit is great! The front vents and engine are especially impressive

Really stunning! It looks exactly like the real car! The rollcage is perfect too, and I can't wait to see your next MOC! Weyhey he's back with a bang! Nice work Ryan, definately up to your usual standard, this doesn't look as complex to build as your previous builds. I can't fault it. If I was to be picky, the roof is a little pointy at its peak, and i'd rather see it in orange lol But with those two minor details aside it's a cracking model of a great concept car! Now go add it to DTM's German car contest it's in with a great shout FTW! Thanks for all your support since I joined :-)

Quoting MortalSwordsman . Oh yes Ryan is back. And you haven't disappointed. The roofline is fantastic and what a surprise to find a roll cage. The engine is superb too. Another beautiful well crafted moc. You are still at school!! Oh my days! I thought you were an Afol. Glad to see you back and can't what to see her sister. ;)
Haha, yes, technically an AFOL, just finishing up an undergrad. Thanks!

Another brilliant and accurate car from you. One of the best concept cars ever made too - whilst the car was never put into production, almost all the technology was. Anyways, wonderfully accurate inside and out, and nice too see so many openable things. Steering would be good, but it probably would affect the looks. 5 stars : )

Wow, that's great. The shaping and the details are so cool. The scissor doors and the engine are my favourite parts. I liked this concept car designed by Giugiaro a lot and the W12 engine is awesome. Once I drove a Phaeton W12 on a German Autobahn which was a great experience ;-)) I can only imagine this engine in such a cool sports car :-)) This model would be a great competitor in Dan the Mans German Cars contest. Great job! :-))
