Hi dudes! Here is my new Rod project! Ok... there's only one wheel done for now but it'll be a really cool one! please rate and comment!
About this creation
Before anything, this is MY custom wheel design!!! Do not use this (for now) please, I 'll be ok to give you my permission to build some ONLY when this MOC will be finished (or failed, but this second option will never hapened...)

By the way: Help me to build more of these please! I exactly need 20 "robot arm" pieces! If you ever got some I could be
ok to by them!!! Thanks! ;D

Hi Vince, why limit yourself to France to buy at BrickLink. I've already ordered LEGO via BrickLink in the Netherlands, Denmark and the UK without any problems. Shipping rates weren't much higher, either, and the delivery was quick, too. To avoid custom issues I've put my orders only inside the EU and everything was fine :-))

Quoting Ape Fight Clever idea, but is there no way you could do this with Lego tyres rather than Meccano?
Nope, Lego tires haven't an enough large hole... Maybe one possible solution should be Lego bikes tires, but I don't know the size of the hole of this kind of tires, and they aren't enouth large I think... Thanks for your interest anyway! : )

Quoting Nils O. Wow, Vince, that's a cool wheel design. Where did you get those brake disks from?
The disks come from old technics boxes (sorry I don't remenber the references), and about Bricklink, thank you, but I already now the site, if I was asking to you dudes, it's because there isn't a lot of these pieces in "France location" on the site... :/.
Quoting everyone:.
About the inner wheels, I think nothing needs to renforce them, The Meccano tire and my 5 stars wheel design put together are enouth strong (I have tested it ; ) ) But, thanks for the ideas and for your interest guys!

Wow, Vince, that's a cool wheel design. Where did you get those brake disks from? To reinforce the tires you could use a piece of plastic pipe if you don't find a matching LEGO part. I only have a small number of those arms and I'll have to keep them for spoilers and such things ;-) In black and dark grey they should be available in the LEGO Shop and you can find them on BrickLink, too: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=53989

Once you add a wheel structure this will be awesome!

As DeTom said, I'm not sure how strong it is. Are you going to sit the chassis on blocks to reduce strain on the wheels? Anyway, it looks great - I can't wait to see it finished! :)

I'm sorry, I don't have the pieces... But it is looking f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c!

This looks very cool! I'm not sure how strong it looks though. Great technique!
