I have been working on this project, along with many others for some time. This is the first 'finished' attempt at a 900/1000 series or century style cab that would have been built by the American LaFrance Company. I like my cab design, and overall the bed is ok. There are several areas I am considering alternative ideas. Obviously, the more unusual detail concerning the engine would be the color scheme chosen. In all my visiting the many wonderful fire departments, I am sure that I could have overlooked it, but I haven't come acroos a fire truck built in the lime color.
My goal is to create a different color scheme for each of my eight fire departments. Currently, Citizen's is white over red, Veteran's is yellow with a red stripe, Friendship is white over red, Shamrock is green, Excelsior is all red, American is white with a blue stripe, Ideal is blue and Laurel was going to be lime. However, I really do not want two station with the same color pattern, so I was planning on altering a little history and only building one lime truck and placing it at Citizen's, since it is a single bay station. Then I could creat another unique color scheme for Laurel. My other option would be to make this a parade truck from one of the other fire departments that once protected the city, but is now defunct.
Lots to think about, but in the meantime, comments are certainly welcomed and needed!!! Also thought I would include a picture of the Madison County Courthouse in downtown Ticlaw.
