The Firelance class of frigate is one of the deadliest special-purpose combat vessels ever made. When Kushan scientists finally made a breakthrough in directed particle beam technology, it was clear that it was just too large to mount effectively on the current class of capital ship hulls. Unwilling to wait for the evolution of larger hulls, combat engineers went to work wrapping a frigate class hull around the huge ion cannon itself. The result was the Firelance class of frigate, whose only real combat function is to deliver the incredible damage potential of the Ion Cannon to the battle.
Armament: 1 Large Ion Cannon
An obvious copy of the Ion Cannon frigate from the game Homeworld. An older build recently overhauled to rid itself of its previously riotous color scheme (purple, yellow, black, grey). I may update it with newer legos to get more of the curvy, deadly sexy ICF look, but otherwise, I'll most likely use it as a template for my Homeworld Assault Frigate.
A very nice replica of the Ion Cannon Frigate! I've only been playing it for a couple of days, despite the fact that we've had it for years. We couldn't find a keycode, so we could not install it. I found one on the internet and it worked! I think I'll play it today. (Used every ship at least once. Built One Heavy Cruiser ond used that one once. I killed the enemy Mothership is the final battle of the match.)
Instantly recognizable! From the very first time I played Homeworld I wanted to build those ships out of legos. I'm glad someone is, because I never got around to it. Anyone who's played the game knows that isn't a cannon on the bottom front of the ship, it's an array (antenna). This is a great model, looks very close. I would however use more 'flat like' pieces instead of those round 1x1's as the array.
